Hello All,

An unfortunate end to somebody's day out this evening; the West Coast Railways special unloading pax at Bristol TM circa 11pm this evening was attended by ambulance personnel following a passenger, apparently elderly, falling between the train and platform.

Best wishes to the passenger involved :(

Some sort of press campaign highlighting the dangers of falling between trains and platforms now presumably awaits us, with demands that millions are spent making railways safe by rebuilding all doors with some sort of fold out step that bridges the gap <(

year before last, a blind woman fell between the platform and u-bahn in Munich as she had mistaken the gap between coaches as a door, she was run over and died.

Unsurprisingly (this being germany), nothing has been done about this

Surely the woman should have been assisted onto the train by a member of station staff? Apart from that there isn't really anything else you can do?
