350232 a lady set herself on fire in the WC approaching Linslade Tunnel (Leighton Buzzard) she sadly died, a good friend of mine was the guard on the train he was left deeply deeply mentally scared by the incident as he was naturally fire on scene opening the door on the horror but couldn’t do anything to help.
Thanks for that Iddybiddy, didn't know about this incident. Here's the answer Class 450/4 DES.

I know that 350232 is haunted due to the fire,
how so? What is your basis for saying that? How do you "know" it? I have travelled on it many times and never experienced anything untoward.
but 350232? What happened with that?
I think this is the unit in which a person killed themselves after starting a fire while inside a toilet. Must have been awful for the crew.

The only thing creepy experience I’ve had on board a train was on a late evening XC Voyager running between Bristol and Birmingham about 10 years ago, specifically somewhere between Bristol Parkway and Cheltenham Spa.

I was in carriage B alone and the door to the vestibule started fully opening and closing. After a couple of minutes, it stopped and the spotlights directly above the aisle started turning on and off, then a few minutes later, the double set of doors at the opposite end of the carriage started opening and closing. And I could just see the inter-connecting doors of the gangway start opening and closing. It felt like someone (or something) was moving through the carriage.

I did some digging a year or so later and found a Voyager had struck and killed someone on the same section of track. I didn’t note which unit I was on, but there was was a unit that had a ghostbusters sticker stuck to its outer body just below its unit number for quite some time, so perhaps it also has a reputation amongst staff!

Network Rail tell us that 44% of suicides in the UK happen on the railways. Given that locos and units can have a long life-span, that's potentially a lot of haunted stock! ;)

I'm thinking back to the last few LNER services I've been on with a large number of reserved, but seemingly unoccupied, seats ... o_O

Very random but 456021 used to haunt me. I drove Atlantic line and Southern metro services alot and that would turn up very very frequently. It failed on me twice.

Now you're definitely on to something. Revenue Protection need a different approach.

91023/132 has to be the most best-known example of a 'jinxed' loco barring D326/40126.

North British 224 aka The Diver has been mentioned a few times already, but it's worth mentioning that it only crossed the new bridge for the first time since it's fatal plunge into the Tay on the 29th anniversary of the disaster - 28th December 1908 - when it hauled the Sunday evening mail train to Dundee via the Tay Bridge.

I was on 350232 yesterday morning and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary although I wasn't sat near the toilet.

Perhaps more of an unhappy coincidence but two trains named 'City of Glasgow' were involved in rail accidents
Coronation Class 46242 at Harrow and Wealdstone in 1952 and Pendolino 390033 at Grayrigg in 2007

I’m back on an alt, because I couldn’t find the login to my old account but, I rode 350232 and didn’t notice anything weird. However it was jam-packed on a Sunday.

It hit a little girl in the Broadmoor area. Drivers kept reporting seeing a little girl on the tracks when driving 450101. I think I also read somewhere that drivers also feel a presence in the cab.
Was this 450001 or 101? I know the story but some people seem to say it was 001 and others say 101!

There was a 156 that was reputedly haunted, but I can't recall the unit number.
Staff reported seeing someone walking up and down inside it when it was stabled out of service, but on there was nobody on board. IIRC it happened several times with the same unit.
Maybe this thread should be transferred to The Forteana Forums!

I was once on 156494 in the pitch dark as the lights had stopped working but I'd put that down to faulty Scotrail wiring rather than the supernatural!

If we're talking about cursed units, I believe 150217 has been involved in a number of separate incidents.

Internationally speaking, there is also CC201 83 07 (CC201 45) of Indonesia. She's a GE U18C locomotive that was built around 1982/1983. It is said that a builder died when it was being built. Said locomotive got into a lot of incidents, some tragic. The locomotive earned the nickname "Si Bader". When the locomotive got an "exorcism", the strange incidents stopped. I am not 100% on this full story but the locomotive is defiantly been involved in a few incidents.

222002 was considered the haunted unit by staff at EMT. Legend has it the interior doors used to open automatically if you went near them despite it not actually being possible, and drivers would spot "ghosts" if they took the train into a siding
