I wonder how money the "Not in use" light on all the PERTIS machines has cost the railway in electricity over the ~35 years they've been around...

Would anyone know if Didcot Parkway is still in place? I’m hopefully going past next week and would like to see it, incase that one the next one to go!!

Stopped by Holton Heath and Beaulieu Road today.
Holton Heath’s machine is working perfectly.
Beaulieu Road’s, as previously mentioned, has a different type of blank stock which is oriented at 90 degrees to the details the machine prints. Consequently the output is very difficult to decipher. Blank stock aside, though, it appears to be fully functional.
Edit: forgot to mention that the clock at Beaulieu Road is running over an hour ahead of time. It said 1346 when I was there at 1220. Holton Heath’s is within a few minutes of the correct time.

A machine previously in use at Raynes Park has been preserved at the Network SouthEast Museum based at the East Kent Railway at Shepherdswell, Kent. Once working it will be used as a donations machine.
I found this on their website some time ago that showed a photo of the machine but can't find it now.

Actually an operational one would go well with a preserved Pacer, which a few lines have got. The eras fit almost perfectly, customers could use loose change to get a souvenir permit, and maybe it would even make a little money for the railway - as long as they could get some somewhat suitable card stock made up for the machine.

Further to my previous reply, regarding the Donations machine on the East Kent railway, I've found it on Facebook. Search for "PERTIS Machines" and scroll down to 21 July 2020. There's some photos of the machine including the inside.

I did also go through Didcot today but couldn’t see any PERTIS machine, that one may have been removed!
Still there today, although taking a very relaxed stance.
Photo shows blue permit to travel machine leaning over to one side.

It's been like that for years and I'm willing to bet that if all of Foxton fell into Barrington Quarry one day, that thing would survive, leaning gently, as the only evidence anyone was ever there!

I was looking at google street view and came across this, I know it’s not a Pertis machine but looks very similar, would anyone know if it’s still in situ at Ashford (Surrey) station?

That's because the Pertis machines were modified versions of those pay-and-display machines.

It is the same exact make and model but just used for car park tickets instead. It is still an Almex Autoslot AS88/AS89 machine. They used to be found at hundreds of car parks and hundreds of on street parking all over the UK in the 80s and 90s but have gradually been removed in recent decades. SWR used to have them at almost all their car parks but have gradually been removing them. Ashford and nearby Virginia Water both still had theirs about twelve months ago but i have not been since. So it is possible that these two machines (and possibly some at other SWR stations too) might still be there.

Thanks for the information @stadler, I did think they look basically the same type of machine but was 100% sure. I’ll do a bit of research.
If anyone might know of any location where they might still be in situ, I’d be very grateful for any info.

Odd that neither side of the street has been updated since 2022. I'll be close to the area in a couple of weeks, I might be able to check.
I was passing Foxton today, PERTIS still there, still with the light on, still leaning heavily

Didcot's Permit to Travel machine is still there as of 20 minutes ago... mark 1 eyeball confirmed.

It was visited by some locals youths upset they got penalty fared from Romsey in a revenue sting.
I'm not sure if the machine at Lapworth still exists as it looked like that station had a TVM when I alighted from a train last month
