Trivia: Stations that still have BR era (or older) signage?

Essex road is a relic at this point, even the entrance sign is still FCC. It needs some love but if it got that love we might loose the old signage.

I think one of the W&C stations has some BR signage but I could be wrong

I like to think FCC left it partly because it's such a gorgeous nostalgic time warp. Even more so now. In reality, so few people use the station it was probably deemed not worth it.

The NSE station sign outside, the FCC vinyls in the little booking hall, the spiral staircase I always use instead of the lift. It's just wonderful.

I noticed in the short passage between the platforms at the north end, that they've reused some of the old station name boarding from Moorgate in the corner of the ceiling (running in boards), and just flipped it around to show white plastic/enamel/whatever it's made of. But it's come away slightly and you can still see the faded blue word "Moorgate" on the back! I've lost the picture now but I'll try to get one if I pass through soon.

I feel like if they ever close it down and make a pop-up "Essex Road Station Museum" nearby it'll get more footfall than the station does in service!

Was at Clapham Junction yesterday and the mosaic of tiles in its underpass is in NSE colours

The W&C "boarding" platforms at Waterloo still have the NSE trapeziods on them, and in fairly decent condition, however the yellow warning line is painted right over them. Do not have a photo, but I am sure it can be googled. Not sure of the alighting platform also has the signs (usually too quick to leave, and never really looked).
Finally, not sure if already mentioned, but Marylbone station has the NSE trapezoids embossed on the station name still.

I don't think they were fitted to the floor on the arriving platform; they were put in as markers for where the door positions are for boarding - the only problem is that they match the door locations for the 487s and so don't line up with the 1992 Stock doors... The reason being that the floor was re-done and the markers installed before the 487s were replaced and they never re-did it afterwards.

Apparently harrow and wealdstone had some ancient silverlink signage , no idea if it has been covered up now though, same for Kensal green

Was at Tilehurst last saturday and it still has some NSE station signs up , right next to brand new GWR signs too . (attached photo of the sign)

There is also a single remaining NSE way out sign at at Watford west on the croxley green branch, apparently there are other signs left but removed and dumped on the now very overgrown embankment. (Photo of remaining sign)

Balham had one until a few weeks ago. I was hoping they were going to preserve it somehow, but no. I know there's a NSE bin being used in the new southerly entrance to the station though. Bollo Lane signal box has some surprisingly clear Network SouthEast branding.

Speaking of FCC branding King's cross Thameslink is covered in it. not likely to be removed any time either considering the station is only to be used as an emergency evacuation point now.
If you get stopped at a red between Farringdon and St Pancras i bet you could get some decent shots of it from the middle of a 700.

Great and definitely worth seeing if a train stops in the old station

Back in the 90s I remember one of the bridges over the then-closed Brighouse station had an L&Y metal sign. Think it was a do not trespass sign. Just looked on google earth and can’t find it - hope it went to a good home.

Keighley station has just had an expensive and comprehensive refurbishment. Despite this, over the entrance to the ticket office remain the BR era Tickets and Parcels signs. This is the National Rail, not KWVR, side of the station. And no, there isn’t an Amazon locker in there.



Outside, the tatty old Metro branded signs remain in place, but I suppose that they will be replaced with Weaver Network ones in the future
