Does TrainSplit access Advance Fares that TOCs can't?

I've noticed when booking advance fares from Colchester to Barking that TrainSplit seems to have advance fares available that aren't appearing on the Greater Anglia ticketing website. On closer inspection the ticket being offered by TrainSplit is a Colchester to 'Underground Zone 3-4' ticket which doesn't appear possible as a destination on Greater Anglia. 'Zone 3-6' and Barking are available but not 'Zone 3-4'. I'm just interested I suppose as to why TrainSplit offer this as a fare but not GA or any other TOC having looked around? Thanks

It's simply that TrainSplit have Underground Zones 3-4 in their list of selectable destination fare locations, whilst Trainline (who provide the ticketing site for Greater Anglia and many other TOCs) don't.

The fare exists either way and other retailers also sell it.

Thank you for the response. Presumably GA set the advance COL to Zones 3-4 fare in the first place so it does seem rather odd that they then don't allow access to that destination on their ticketing site and instead charge full price to Barking.

Never assume conspiracy - they just probably haven't noticed. Might well get fixed now, TOC pricing managers do read here.

Pricing managers don't manage booking sites.

No, but they do have influence and can far more raise issues like that and get them fixed than passengers.

Wouldn't it be nice if they hadn't packed the data full of garbage and you didn't have to play this game of everyone manually whitelisting locations

There is so much in the data that there's little to choose between whitelisting and blacklisting.
