I’ve got the below fairly soon (seemingly no two-hand coordination?!);

Paper tests:

- Group Bourdon (GBD)
- The Test of Everyday Attention (TEA-Occ)
- Trainability for Rules & procedures Parts 1 and 2 (TRP)
- Written Communications Test (WCT)

Computer based exercises:

- The WAFV Vigilance Test
- The ATAVT Perception Test
- The Situational Judgement Exercise (SJE)

Congrats!!! Very well done bet you’re delighted! So the DMI would be the final stage then? Have you managed to talk to anyone specially at GWR yet? Have sooo many questions that I am not trying to jump the gun I.e where is the training held etc

You managed to go stage 1 to stage 2 quite quickly- the email I received recently after passing stage one referenced a “change in workforce requirements” so wasn’t sure if there would now be a delay

Hi. Been invited to assessment centre on 17th April for Plymouth.

The time is 0830 - 1700. Have they changed to include all tests including MMI in one day?

When I did it 6 years ago, it was over 2 separate days.

Hi. Firstly good luck with your assessments! Where did you find out exactly what tests you are booked for? I've been invited to an assessment day but no specific details of what assessments on the invite?

I would double check that as the two-hand coordination would normally be included.

Congratulations, that’s such a big achievement!
Unfortunately I did not get in, asked for feedback. I felt the DMI hadn’t gone so well.

I answered 37 out of 50 with 33 correct. That scored in the 99th percentile so I don't think anyone could possibly have finished.

Did you contact them for the specific detail in your scores? I didn’t get invited to interview either and I didn’t notice any detailed results in the “sorry but thanks” email.

My suggestions would be., only do what you’re trained to do (i.e. you’re not a doctor), don’t be afraid to challenge unsafe situations (even if a more experienced person says something)., I’m sure there’s more, just can’t remember what they asked now..

That’s the problem with aptitude tests generally. I layman’s terms, if you score an “C” amongst 1,000 applicants who mostly scored D or below, you’ll pass, but if you score a C when most others scored C or above, you’d probably not be progressed.

These tests aren’t intended to be completed generally. Better to answer 37 and get 33 correct than to answer al 50 and get 37 correct.

Hi all,

I've noticed a few Bristol Parkway applicants here, so I thought I'd share my experience. I finished my DMI last month and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I've gone through the whole application process! The questions were quite similar to the MMI, although a lot more casual with general chit-chat.

This week, I was informed that I passed the DMI and should expect to hear back shortly.

There were a lot of applicants, but I was told that at this stage it's a relatively small talent pool. He estimated that the longest wait time in the talent pool would be six months, but he said that's unlikely and the wait could be only a month or two. The training takes place at St Philips Marsh.

Does anyone know if there are expected vacancies at Parkway? Also, are there designated training months (e.g., June or September), or is it dependent on when enough candidates are available to form a training cohort?
