I found this article from last August saying that it successfully completed dynamic testing
Well there must be more to it than dynamic testing but I don’t have any more info apart from what managers are telling us. Interesting that it hasn’t returned to Hornsey 7 months later

What diagrams are 379s working now? I saw a 379 running a Peterborough (1P) service on railcam the other day but didn't catch the headcode.

I think that it is these trains, but stand to be corrected if I am wrong.

1Q85 0635 Peterborough to London Kings Cross
1Q09 0745 Letchworth to London Kings Cross
1Q11 0817 Letchworth to London Kings Cross

1P82 1642 London Kings Cross to Peterborough
1L48 1724 London Kings Cross to Letchworth
1L50 1754 London Kings Cross to Letchworth

379029 is apparently one of the latest unit in operation, operating on 1L48 this evening (paired with 379002).

Just working through comments here over the last few days.

I think this is now the situation

In service with GTR based at HE7002/016/020/022/023/026/029
At Hornsey but not in passenger service5001/010/017/021/024
Stored at Peterbo Nene Sidings2019/027
Stored at Worksop14003/004/005/006/007/008/009/011/012/013/014/015/018/030
At Kings Lynn- Staff Training2025/028

Not 100% sure both 001 and 010 have made to to Hornsey and that 025 and 028 are still at Kings Lynn

And would be good to know when 029 first day in service was.

Update, comments and correction welcome.

Best Wishes

I was in the London end carriage of a class 379 on the 1724 Kings Cross to Letchworth. I noticed that all the first class marking seem to have been removed from the interior of the compartment with the nice seats. However the outside is still labelled first class. Is the intention to declassify that first compartment? Has anything been said officially on this?

There were plenty of people sitting there, more than I would expect to have paid for first class ticket. An inspector might well issue a number of fines if they believe it is still first class.

Here are some photos (if the forum allows them) about what I mean:

First Class is still very much in use on the 379s.

According to a Facebook group, it says 004+006
It was indeed. I saw them arrive, with some 57, whilst I was on a 379 on Road 9.

It's not uncommon on Sevenoaks services (which are declassified each end) to have all the first class antimacassars taken off and thrown around the train and in bins. Maybe someone decided to 'be clever' and take them all off?
