Do we know what is on 1W61 tomorrow? I was briefly worried that is the same diagram as 1W11, but after going back a couple of pages it seems that it is a different diagram.

At least 18:30 from Piccadilly is quieter than the 16:30 and the 17:30 if a 197 is substituting. I do not know what the impacts on other peaks elsewhere on the line are.

67008 set 1

Canton sets not allocated as of yet
Planned for 67017+HD06 on 1W11 start
67008+HD01 1W13 start

HD07 is now stopped for exam while HD05 TO vehicle is undergoing heavy maintenance at Crewe ETD, the rest of the rake awaits tyre turning.

1W13 is 197002
That is going to be cosy.

I see it was supposed to HD01, we had problems at Shrewsbury last night (though I feel it was more that the problems could be looked at at Shrewsbury, and were something that kept going). Hopefuly, whatever those problems are can be resolved.

HD01 will be on Canton all day, not sure on the issue but Its Planned back out tomorrow

Planned out tomorrow are HD06 and HD01 out of Canton while HD03 and HD04 are planned on the Crewe diagrams.

Sunday is planned for HD01 out of Canton and HD07 out of Crewe.

Monday should see HD01 and 03 out of Canton, HD02 out of Holyhead and HD04 and 07 from Crewe.

HD05 is under maintenance at ETD and HD06 stops tomorrow when it gets back to Crewe for a couple of days for exam.

197112, 1W61 & 1V62

At least a 3 car was found to cover. I see the 1730 Manchester to Milford Haven is a 2 car 197 yet again. Not booked for a MK4 of course but the impact of 197s covering for MK4's is why others were short formed.

The first Friday I did not have to take that train. Very happy that I did not need to be on the 17:30 if it was 2-car.

There really needs to be a relief for that train to take commuters to Crewe (and surprisingly Nantwich). I know stock is in short supply, but would be good if something could be done.

Even if it meant the 17:30 having to follow something slower, I suspect those going longer distances would be glad of the space of the train.

Pre-covid the 17:27 Bournemouth XC acted as a bit of a relief for the 17:30. Now, despite that running via Crewe it is non stop from Stockport to Stafford so it now takes the path from Cheadle Hulme to Crewe and doesn't take any of the passengers.
Realistically though if a unit could be rustled up to work a relief, that same unit would be better utilised running the 1730 in its booked formation.

And it is exactly that, on this occasion as 197112 was originally allocated to the 17:30, with 049. Ended up being pinched at Cardiff to cover the Mk4, with 049 working it solo. Was full & standing until Wem.

I had forgotten about the 17:27 being one of those that went via Crewe.

I must confess I was thinking of a Northern EMU rather than anything which could be attached to the 17:30. Appreciate it is a pathing thing, but that was why I said it would not matter if the 17:30 ended up slower towards Crewe. As long as it gets out of Manchester alright it can recover some time later using the better performance of the 197s.

I'm guessing the Sunday diagrams have been sacrificed to keep the weekday ones running ?
Not really. There's not enough working for all 5 diagrams tomorrow.
Hopefully 4 diagrams tomorrow but potentially only 2 if HD01 and 07 aren't repaired in time.

Which diagram tomorrow is expected to be the one covered by a unit ? (assuming that there will indeed be 4)

Set 3 is locoless now. HD07 is failed at Crewe with door faults.
HD05 planned back from ETD to ATC tomorrow.

At least the one starting 04:35 from Canton. The other one will run as long as HD01 is available.

Does anyone know what is wrong with HD01? It was not behaving on the way back from Manchester on Thursday and has not been out since.

I suspect 1W13 is going to be a unit today, but am happy to be proven wrong.

Gone for 1W12 again tomorrow, so that is a unit. I just hope none of the Mk4 diagrams steal half of the consist.
