The senior GBRf bods really are reading this thread aren't they?!

Does the real 69 014 look anything close to the Photoshop from last week in terms of the small details?

A better image full credit to David Hann, many thanks for your efforts.

Image shows 69014 in Kestrel livery!

Definitely a "homage to", rather than a "recreation of". Some US railroads take the former approach. I guess there will be as many in one camp, as in the other.
Attached photos (general internet search) show: the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad's early diesels and then the Union Pacific Railroad's "tribute" paint scheme, which is not trying to create the old liveries.

Bit of a hotch potch isn’t it. Windscreen treatment reminiscent of the early revised NSE iteration on 50026.

To paraphrase Tenacious D:- "This is not, the greatest livery in the world... Oh no, this is just a tribute!"
Of course some folk will still grumble and pick holes either because it wasn't their personal choice of heritage livery or because there's some minor detail they dislike. Think if I ran a FOC I'd just think "fine then, everything's going in our standard corporate colours".

I think I prefer the Photoshop version, by a long way...
Absolutely agree 100%.

Honestly I think with this one just outshopping it in GBRf livery (which suits the 69s pretty well) would have been better than this. It’s not even really a tribute. Everything looks different!

Yes, it does look like an old EMD logo - that is a nice heritage touch !
The example I posted is actually the current EMD logo, but that is basically a 'heritage' logo anyway.

I prefer the real version to the Photoshopped version - I think the real one fits the loco better, and deals better with the 'yellow end' problem.

I prefer the real one too, never saw the original livery so don't really have anything really to compare this homage against. Just think it fits the 69 pretty well.
