Apologies, no. That's my error putting the wrong way round finishing. They're all as booked so 05 will end v50 and 06 v62. I've edited the original post. Thanks

Heard 1V31 & 1W11 will be units
On a Saturday at least
That can only really work on Saturdays. The trains are too busy Monday to Friday to be single units near Manchester.Yes that’s right from what I can see. 1V37 will be hauled though, 5V37 empties from Crewe ATC to Picc will form the 08:30 back. The unit from 1W11 will stand down at Piccadilly and attach to 1W12, and both form the 09:30 South Wales
HD01 is now on site at Crewe ETD for Tyre Turning with 67020. Also present there was 67012 + 67025 both undergoing heavy maintenance.
TfW newbie 67028 was also there, now devoid of all DB Branding, not sure if this one is getting a full repaint before joining the fleet in service since it’s outright purchased from DB
Looking at the new diagrams:
Monday to Friday and Sunday are pretty much identical to now.
As has been said there's a change to Saturday morning ones, with the loss of the 2 very early trains it now means that the 08:54 Cardiff to Manchester and 12:30 return can go over to Mk4s on a Saturday.
Saturday diagrams from May are:
06:27 Manchester to Cardiff
10:53 Cardiff to Manchester
14:30 Manchester to Cardiff
18:53 Cardiff to Manchester
08:30 Manchester to Cardiff
12:53 Cardiff to Manchester
16:30 Manchester to Swansea
05:39 Swansea to Manchester
10:30 Manchester to Cardiff
14:53 Cardiff to Manchester
18:30 Manchester to Cardiff
08:54 Cardiff to Manchester
12:30 Manchester to Cardiff
16:53 Cardiff to Manchester
Will there still be a early morning and late evening Holyhead/Cardiff during the week?Looking at the new diagrams:

With a bit of juggling of diagrams looks like the 0854 from Cardiff and 1230 from Manchester will be MK4's then from May.Looking at the new diagrams:

Yes.Afternoon
Is is still due to be 67029 and set 4 on 1W96 tonight please?
Thank you
Dave
Yes thats certainly the plan with the new diagrams. They're much better to be honest with an extra departure from Manchester and only losing two really quiet trains plus there's more time on depot overnight for a couple of sets. With a bit of juggling of diagrams looks like the 0854 from Cardiff and 1230 from Manchester will be MK4's then from May.
Yes the weekdays are the same so the Holyheads will continue to run like now. Will there still be a early morning and late evening Holyhead/Cardiff during the week?
I believe there's missed opportunity with the Holyhead services on a weekend, ideally you'd run a service down to Cardiff from Holyhead in the morning and run it back up on 1W96 in the evening, similarly to how they replaced a unit with one recently for events in Cardiff.Yes the weekdays are the same so the Holyheads will continue to run like now.
It could be done but there's a lot of compromises which would have to happen such as losing request stops across Anglesey, crewing changes taking out Llandudno Jcn and Chester crews and Shrewsbury drivers and also the weekend is regularly being used at Holyhead for loco maintenance and exams which has helped improve things in the week having this done.I believe there's missed opportunity with the Holyhead services on a weekend, ideally you'd run a service down to Cardiff from Holyhead in the morning and run it back up on 1W96 in the evening, similarly to how they replaced a unit with one recently for events in Cardiff.
Unless there's limitations I'm not aware out in place to prevent this, of course.
Tomorrow HD07+67014 will head to Crewe ETD for tyre turning joining locoless HD01 which is split for wheelset changes.
67008 will swap onto a set at Canton on Friday (likely but not confirmed as HD06) between it arriving from Manchester and forming the evening Holyhead, this will mean no loco will have an exam in Holyhead over the weekend and allow a 5th Holyhead-Holyhead diagram on Saturday for the rugby.
Exam at ETDWhere has 67020 gone please
Exam at ETD
Very short of 197s. V66 cancelled beyond Crewe. Both sets are working back to
Crewe tonight in service on
1V66 & 1K76 instead of ECS
