It is running as normal but when I asked the conductor on the train I was on there is still a 20mph limit in the area, so I would not be surprised if further works were to be carried out at a later date

Often get speed restrictions following works so could well not be.

Original announcement specifically said the closure was for investigative work, the strong implication being that full remedial work would then be planned for whatever needed doing.
