Perhaps it's a special case but I find that the website https://secure.railcard.co.uk/Account/My-Railcards/ gives access to my entire history of Senior Railcards going back to 2011-2012.

I think I have always bought one year physical cards using Tesco clubcard points. Also I get reminders when expiry is nearly due.

The website says copyright ATOC Ltd, so that's presumably the uderlying retailer.

So, all your purchases were from the same retailer and you can see the history. That's to be expected, isn't it?

Yes, but it seems a frequent theme elsewhere on this forum that people are unable to see their history of railcard purchases.

Or to be blissfully ignorant of when their railcard expires, until stopped by revenue protection, when it's found that it already has.

Does it show railcards purchased from other retailers, eg Trainline, Trainsplit, Trainpal?

Does it show railcards purchased at a station?

Just noticed that you have less than 24hours to buy or renew at the current price. From 2200 on 1st March the cost increases!

Presuming they've bought online, will they get a reminder before the expiry date?

It's 2nd March from which the price increase becomes effective.

For reasons best known to RDG, the railcard.co.uk system apparently needs 9 hours of downtime to have the price changed - which is why it's going offline at 10pm and won't be available again until 7am.

Other retailers will be selling Railcards at the old price right up until midnight.

Anecdotally from this forum it appears that the official Railcard website sends out reminders if the railcard has been purchased there, but Trainline doesn’t. Not sure about other apps.

Yes - my railcard now says EXPIRING SOON as well.

There have been plenty of examples of investigations into invalid tickets where the passenger is expected to not only know exactly their entire history of Railcard validity, but to also have proof of all that. It's bonkers that there isn't a central database easily accessed by rail companies and individual Railcard holders.

There is a central database, it's unclear to me why TOCs are asking customers to evidence this themselves. Perhaps the prosecutions department need to have a chat with RDG about getting access?

I suppose there will be questions about how complete it is and what access is really available.

Understandably, but even if it's only .. 80% of the way there (I can't quite remember the figures but I think it was better than this based on the number of railcards in circulation), surely it's better to check first and then dedicate the time to chasing those that you can't find evidence for.

Thameslink remind me each year when my Gold Record Card is approaching expiry, normally around 7 days ahead of the date (this is a separate notification from my actual season ticket, as the email specifically says 'railcard' in the headline and subject field).
