I personally got very bored with the 70/75 loco-hauled limits on the Chiltern route. I think it's still like that south of Princes Risborough.

In addition to what Western Champion said, if you catch a down train from Euston to BHM which does not call at Rugby you will have the fun of zipping through the two junctions either side of Rugby at full left-hand tilt at 125mph. Very impressive.

I agree that entering Rugby under the southern flyover, and making the left turn uphill is pretty good on a Pendolino.

One thing to point out is that the Chiltern loco hauled trains only run on Monday to Friday.

Personally I hate Pendos to travel on (as we have already discussed on here), but do find them fun to take photos of on the "bendy bits" ( see here )

It will be one diagram between BHM and GLC/EDB. It hasn't been confirmed yet (to the best of my knowledge).

Last year I can't remember. Sorry - I thought the question asked what 054 would release to cover on Bhm - Scotland. Answer - 1 diagram. Whether this operates in parallel to or not I don't know.

Or if you want to compromise, one way out and one way back. I might try that on my next run to Brum, if I can get the Pretendolino one way and a Chiltern 67 the other.

Another option for you, what I did a few months ago.

Chiltern to Banbury, XC to Oxford and (if your timing's are right) a Great Western HST into Paddington.
