Help please. These two were there today. I am aware of the data at uklocos.com for Puma Energy Milford Haven but:

a) there is no Barclay listed
b) the listed Hunslet is an 0-6-0, this one seems to match their photo except that it clearly has four wheels.

The new Industrial Locomotives book from the Industrial Railway Society lists an 0-6-0 Hunslet Barclay as being there, number 078 built in 1969 as works number 6663, rebuilt in 1999 as works number 6586.

There is also a four wheel shunter named "Edward" which is owned by Hunslet Ltd and is works number 267V of 1976.

Should be a third locomotive on site, another 0-6-0 numbered 077; that will be works number D1198 of English Electric of 1969 rebuilt as works number L122 by Yorkshire Engine Co in 1993.

HE 6663 was built as a Hunslet but rebuilt as a Hunslet-Barclay. The two firms merged.

The four wheeler is TH 267V, built by Thomas Hill and the Hunslet plate is just an owners plate.

Why did it get a lower works number on rebuilding?

...or have the IRS got the numbers the wrong way round in the book?

Hunslet works numbers can be a bit of a nightmare as different blocks were allocated for different types/purposes, so there are indeed cases of Hunslet rebuild numbers being lower than their build numbers !

I'm surprised they need 3 locos there these days. Far fewer trains from there than there used to be. The 6B13 Westerleigh has been cancelled every day this week.
