Is there any way to do this? I'm tired of stressing and just want to pay the fine and move on. Please let me know.

This is not a good idea. Appealing a penalty fare statute bars the company from prosecuting you.

What reason do you have for stressing? An appeal is in, if it gets decided in your favour, great - if not, you still get to pay the reduced rate as the appeal stops the clock on the amount increasing. You have three appeals.

What was the reason for the penalty fare and on what grounds are you appealing?

To be honest it's because I lied and I realize in my appeal I can be caught out in my lie. I also gave fake name + address which I read is an offence, I'm spinning out with anxiety right now. The offence was boarding without a ticket.

Just wait for the current level of appeal to be decided. If it succeeds, good. If not you can then pay it.
But is there a way to withdraw the appeal/remove any attached images?

I think it would be better not to draw further attention to yourself by trying to withdraw an Appeal. Appeals are dealt with by an independent body so it's unlikely the Railway will investigate further as a consequence of your Appeal.

One thing you can do now is pay the Penalty Fare (although I doubt that of itself would stop the Appeal progressing through its process - but most Appeals seem to be rejected anyway so the process will probably end fairly soon anyway)

If you want to reduce anxiety / suffer from anxiety then it seems to me that the best thing to do is stop evading fares, lying when caught, giving fake personal details etc.

Thank you so much. I have certainly learned my lesson. I will pay the penalty and hopefully they will see it as some kind of co-operation. My question is will anything come of the giving of fake details, as I have read some stuff on here that is spiking my anxiety.

probably not if they don't investigate anything any further as they would have no need to follow it up with any letters etc - by paying the Penalty Fare you increase the chances of them not following anything up - whereas non payment of the Penalty fare would be very likely to result in follow ups.

Does the rail company now have your correct address, or will they email their appeal response to you?

They don't have any of my real details except for the video on the bodycam. I have appealed via email so I have an account I can log into and view the status. I assume that's how I will find the outcome.

Thank you for the help this is really useful for my general mental health in this moment. Making the payment soon. This is still possible even if I have an active appeal going?

I am pretty sure it is - if the Appeal is successful they send a refund to people who pay the Penalty and Appeal it.

Thank you my brother. You've put my mind to rest today, as much as can be done. I really appreciate it.
pay it I think, and keep proof of payment / screen shot etc.

If anything comes of it later on people here will help you as best they can with what to do in that eventuality - but I suspect your will just be one of loads of penalty fares that go through the system and when paid just get filed away and never looked at again.

But one thing to bear in mind is if you get caught again they will check to see if any previous record of a Penalty Fare against the name you gave and may then just escalate it to prosecution team for investigation. You really need to avoid that so basically make sure you have legit tickets form now on. Or travel by bus etc if cheaper.

If the OP was to pay this and then the appeal was successful, how does it get refunded? Given they do not have the OP's correct details, could this get highlight a problem as a result of the payment trying to be refunded? As we do not know on what grounds the appeal was being made we cannot say if it is likely to be successful (athough we think from what we see on this forum that most first appeals are not successful).

It'll just get refunded to the payment card. And given that anyone can pay a Penalty Fare on behalf of someone else, I can't see that they'd actually care if the name on the payment card didn't match.

I don't imagine it's that unusual for friends or family to pay the PF for someone.
