Hi all,

I travelled from Felixstowe to Stockport on Saturday 15th February, via London, breaking the journey in London. The train I planned to take, and did take from Euston to Stockport was delayed (17.13 departure) so I am eligable for delay repay. When I do this I need to enter an itinery. Do I override the automated itinery and add in my own journey as I took it?
Journey:
FLX d06.28 IPS a06.54
IPS d07.10 INT a07.59
INT d08.05 ZNP a0845 [Rail replacement Ingatestone to Newbury Park]
I then tapped in at Newbury Park to travel to my destination in London, to avoid any issues exiting at the London Underground gateline, then subsequently travelled on the underground, ending up at Euston Square.
EUS d17.13 SPT a19.09

I had an Off Peak Return (Felixstowe-Stockport) with Two Together Railcard discount (so have two Off Peak Returns). I purchased this from the Ticket Office at Ipswich Station. I also got reservations for the 17.13 departure from Euston.

Second question. Last time I was delayed I applied for both tickets (as I purchased both to use with the railcard) and the second got rejected, presumably because I had already applied. I then appealed and was successful. Is there a way to apply for both together to avoid the instant rejected?

Any advice appreciated, thanks in advance.
Gareth

You should claim for the journey you made, not mentioning the first part.

Agreed. You made a journey from London to Stockport, which was delayed. The fact that you used a ticket from Felixstowe is immaterial.

I regularly break journey in London, and am subsequently delayed. I enter details of the ticket that I bought, and journey details commencing from London. They have always paid out based on the full ticket cost, even though I have only been delayed for part of the journey. I have occasionally had the claims initially rejected (e.g. wrongly claiming that the ticket wasn't valid for the journey), but succeeded on appeal.

As to claiming for two people travelling together, I think most TOCs require separate claims. I suggest that you follow the instructions on the relevant TOC's website. It is not uncommon for perfectly legitimate claims to be rejected initially.
