If it's now 2x153 then that's an improvement over the 150 previously used! This train is more intended for people making local trips between various points on the route, rather than being an express service to the west country. Still, hell of a long way on a lowly 'West' unit!

Yes, it's not really meant as a through service, it;s just a collection of lcoal services strung together.

When I've worked this train in the past, I've had people get on at Bristol stations travelling to Liskeard, Redruth and Par before!

I do feel do very sorry for them!!

The pair of 153s go all the way to Penzance. Later work the 1557 Plymouth-Penzance with another 153 so there's a triplet on that train. Still seems to turn up as a 150 half the time anyway. The 153s should be on the 05xx Bristol-Penzance as they switch over to Newquay in the summer, and the Newquay service works better with 2 153s rather than a 150. I expect in July and August the 0626 Bristol-Penzance will revert to a 150, with the 05xx Bristol-Newquay going over to a pair of 153s.
