Dear RailUK community,

I am currently writing a script set in the mid 1930s in the U.S. that revolves around railway and there are some aspects of history that I would like to learn more about. I wonder if there is anyone here that would like to give my questions a go and help me understand more how the business operated back then.

If you mean that the action of your script is set in the US, you would probably be better contacting a ‘US railfans’ site. There are one or two people on this forum who do know a bit about US railroads and might be able to give suggestions.

Agreed, a US site/forum is where to ask. One I know is https://forum.trains.com/ - this is part of the trains.com 'empire' (formerly Kalmbach) - their 'historic railway' magazine is Classic Trains.
