I have paid the fine for not tapping out on the Victoria line however I’m afraid that the record remains. How will this affect my future? Seems to be a bit harsh for the minor offence if this will hinder my life :(

What actually happened? Were you given a penalty fare or were you reported for prosecution?

I was just in court and paid a minimum fine. They said it’s on my record but not sure for how long it will be there

The conviction will be spent after 12 months so will no longer appear on any standard DBS checks. If you work in a role that requires enhanced DBS it may still appear.

So after 12 months my life can resume?
Having an unspent conviction does not mean your life is on hold. A conviction is a matter of public record, effectively for all time, but the law here means in most circumstances you have no obligation to disclose convictions which become "spent" - which yours will be after one year. You should direct any enquiries to Unlock: https://unlock.org.uk/ - they are a charity which can help with this.
