That's not a Bridge Strike Appendix and if it was surely that would be a protected document that shouldn't be shared on a public forum. Even the training document you have shared has an "Official" classification on it so I suspect is in breach of GDPR rules...???

hello everyone, I'm a grade 2 signaller at the moment with an interview for a grade 3 box soon. I know they use the STAR method for the interview questions, but I'm not sure what questions they will ask. Something about working in a stressful environment and dealing with pressure, presumably. Anyone who has been through the interview process remember what types of questions they asked? I would like to be prepared as much as possible TIA

Yeah might not get face to face in Scotland.

Will most likely be a conference interview over camera, could be wrong for a smaller box like Perth.

Anyone have advice other than using the STAR method and keeping the non- technical skills in mind? I'm usually pretty good at finding the flow in an interview but it is going to be online, and I struggle a lot more with that

Found this post from 2022.

Link 1 originally was Paddington, Acton, Hayes and Slough.

Link 0, Grade 9, was created by adding workstations to Link 1 and splitting the link (to try and reduce a bit of the workload) Link 0 currently do Paddington and Acton. There will be a new workstation between the two called OOC at some point.

Link 1, Grade 9, is Hayes, Heathrow and Slough. Both these Links work 12hrs 07:00/19:00

Link 2, Grade 9, is Twyford, Reading, West Junction and B&H. 12hrs 06:00/18:00

Link 3, Grade 7, is Didcot, Oxford and Swindon. 12hrs 07:00/19:00

Link 4, Grade 8, Bath, Bristol TM and Stoke Gifford. 12hrs 07:00/19:00

A Crossing desk, Grade 2, with Appleford, Stocks Lane, Causeway and Minety Crossings on it. 12hrs 06:00/18:00

I worked Link 1 in its original 4 workstation form but I don't know the exact current shift patterns are, I left there about 20 months ago.

Nice one! Set up your computer on a pile of books or something so you’re not looking down at the screen is always a good one for online interviews.

I would recommend memorising two examples for each non-technical skill in the STAR format. If they then need to press you on something then you’ve instantly got another example up your sleeve instead of panicking and having to make something up on the spur of the moment.

I was thrown a bit when asked a question about a time when I’d screwed up and had to rectify my mistake. So maybe think of some negative situations as well rather than just ones that show you gliding through your job like a swan. Have you ever fallen out or clashed with anyone at work? That sort of thing. Best of luck with the interview.

Just wondering if I could ask if you got a start date? If so how is it going? Also may I ask what dose of Setraline you are/were on. I am on 100g and the GP has passed me on the medical but dropped a condition of working supervised until my dose is lowered or until I stop taking all together. Still waiting back to see if I still get the role I was offered in April (Feels like I wont get the role at this moment in time). Just wondered if you or anyone else has had issues about being on Sertraline.

Maybe the dosage is to high, I've seen threads about drivers being fine to take sertaline at 50mg.

But disclose it all to the medical professionals, because if they catch you in a lie, it could cost you.

I'm unaware unfortunately, I think if 100mg is to high to work un supervised until it's reduced for original poster, then any grade due to safety critical nature of the job it may be to high.

But the medical professional can inform you and maybe seek if that is or isn't, or you maybe opt to contact GP to reduce over a number of weeks before IST start.

I am due to start Signalling school in May and i am wondering if there is any study resources I can obtain to help me do well at the school. I appreciate the lecturers will be great at teaching us all, but i was hoping to maybe settle my nerves a bit since i have never truly studied since Secondary school which was over 20 years ago. Any advice you can give me or resources that will help, would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, I am over complicating it I feel, the signallers I have spoke to have said, study the books you are giving, practice what I am taught and have the right attitude, as in a if I want it enough it will happen sort of thing....

You mean they don't wanna see my double chins? That's a good shout though, thank you! I propped my laptop up on my toaster for the video clip 'interview', truly the height of professionalism

Ohhh that's a really good idea, thank you so much! At first I was bummed I have to wait so long for my interview, but honestly it's probably good I've got some time to prepare.

I had a similar question to that in the videos too, it definitely threw me a bit! But I must have come up with something good enough since I got through. I think a lot of companies like to see how you work through struggles rather than just hear you make yourself out to be perfect. Which is understandable. Thank you so much!! Equally excited and nervous.

I applied for the G2 Trainee at Montrose. Thank you so much!! I really hope so too. There isnt a whole lot of choice within the 50 min commute for me so I was honestly astounded when I saw this position come up!

A fellow Scot, nice one! I had thought about applying for Perth too, but just a bit far for me. I applied and completed all the online assesments 30/01, got the email saying I had passed on 31/01 and just got the call today offering me an interview My candidate portal is still showing the same message as yours though. So I guess you could get the call tomorrow, or in a few months I honestly wasn't expecting to hear anything this month after reading about how long it has taken for some people, but they do seem to be arranging interviews for a few different places just now so I wouldn't be surprised if you heard from them soon! Wishing you luck too!
