Very good, it is indeed Siracusa.
I did not get to travel there by train, only by rail replacement bus...which broke down.

That loco - 740 452 - has been sitting in Siracusa goods yard since 1978! It was one of the last eight steam locos in service in Sicily. Soon after being withdrawn from Modica depot, all eight were dragged to Siracusa to be cut-up by a local scrap merchant in the yard there. However he either died or went bust - I can't remember which - before work could start on the last one. From your photo, it would appear that someone has had a go at painting the tender. A nascent preservation attempt perhaps?
Unfortunately my laptop is still in dock, so I have nothing suitable to offer. Therefore I shall declare open floor once again.
