Alighting Eurostar at Lille

Hello, I have a ticket booked for St Pancras International to Amsterdam Centraal but wish to alight at Lille.

Has anyone had recent experiece (ie. this year) that tickets are not checked at Lille when alighting?

I still need to leave the UK but due to the death of a close family member, do not want to go as far as Amsterdam. The plan would be to by a single return from Lille to St Pancras International for a couple of days later.

I'd usually be up for taking a chance but, in the present circumstances, don't have the energy for a debate with a ticket inspector in French on arrival a few hours after my mother's funeral.

Took the Eurostar to Lille and back earlier this January, happy to confirm they didn't check tickets leaving the train.

No checks at Lille. In fact, the arrival platform seemed quite open, with greeters down there meeting incoming passengers.

There are no exit ticket checks on Eurostar stations other than in the Netherlands.

If your barcode doesn't work there, just press the "i" button on the pole next to the wide gate, say the gate doesn't like your international ticket, and it will be opened remotely no questions asked.

Yes I can agree with the above. Took Eurostar early December . My direct London to Paris cancelled so was put on the following Lille train where I exited no probs. I then had a word with the ticket gate man and controller of the TGV @ Lille Flandres who allowed me to travel to Paris on my Eurostar ticket. Only arrived 1 hour late in Paris Nord
