Is there any routes or way of a circular journey I could do for a day starting from Poznan with this ticket?

Or any recommendations without this ticket using local and PKP services.

The obvious one is Poznan-Zbasynek-Wolstyn-Leszno-Kalisz-Poznan (including the steam train). Whether that is do-able in practice I don't know, it's years since I was there.

MOST=not all of local services=all stops, are done by PolRegio-and this offers its own ´rover´tickets as well- like 3 days travel in some period (1 month-maybe shorter). They do most local rutes out of Poznan. Pretty cheap.
PKP only does the longer distance IC/Expresses etc and all trips have to be reserved, also with any type of ride-at-will, like also InterRail.
MUst admit that what you mention is unknown to me till now, perhaps its just yet another title for what existed already.

Reservations are only mandatory in some trains, check the PKP planner. Recommended in many cases nevertheless.

The one that immediately comes to mind is Poznań-Wolstzyn-Leszno-Ostrów Wielkopolskie-Kalisz-Poznan, all on Koleje Wielkopolskie.

Thank you - does the Wolstzyn steam run at this time of year? Ideally I'd be looking at Wednesday 5th February for my Poznan trip start.

sorry, no English version AFAIK but "erst ab Februar" means "(only) from February."

The pdf timetable says "Mon-Fri from 3 Feb" so you are in luck! However, you will probably need to reverse/adapt my suggested trip upthread.

Thanks I'll take a look at timings when I can make it onto a desktop - trying to work out on mobile isn't the greatest.

According to the timetable there is one afternoon return steam working from Wolsztyn to Zbąszynek, which is in the opposite direction to Leszno where it used to go.

Zbąszynek is mainly served by expresses from Poznan, but their is a limited KW and Polregio service.

The Saturday steam service to Poznan is one return working 05:52 from Wolsztyn returning at 09:24 from Poznan.

Did use this ticket in February last year from Poznan precisely to cover the steam turn but couldn't do a circular route. Went to Wolsztyn (ticket includes entrance to Steam shed or at least a reduction in the cost, can't quite remember which) then up to Zbaszynek and return to Wolsztyn for train back to Poznan. Took the entire day!

I looked at the timetable and connection from Zbaszynek back towards Poznan was at 1525 Polregio Service. So ideally if the steam is on time then I should be able to make it.

I'm going to have a look tomorrow at times - as I'd like to start from Poznan at around 9am and go somewhere and end up in Wolstzyn for the steam service. However proving where to go in a circular journey is proving difficult.
