I am planning on going to Retro Tech UK 2025 but there is one problem, it's on Sunday 11 May and I don't drive.

The address is The Sports Connexion, Leamington Road, Ryton On Dunsmore, Coventry, CV8 3FL.

Google suggests no buses on a Sunday but their are buses Monday to Saturday.

Would I be better off staying in Coventry and getting a taxi to the venue or trying to get as close to the Sports Centre as possible and stay the night nearby.

Alternatively I could travel on the day but I wouldn't likely get to the venue until 11 am. Given it runs until 4 pm, that might be OK.

Personally i'd get a taxi, there is a hotel reasonably close to the venue so the taxi fare might not be that expensive.

This is its third year at Sports Connexion and yes, the only public transport access is an expensive taxi to/from Coventry station (typically £20 each way). If you don't live in the Midlands than an overnight hotel stay may be worthwhile.

I don't get to the venue until around 1130-1200 (I'm limited by the first train from Kidderminster which is 0946 on Sundays). The serious collectors' items will have gone by then but there are still lots of things of interest!

My interest in going is for gramophones and photographs.

I saw a video last year on YouTube and thought I should attend.

I don't own a phonograph but I wouldn't mind doing so, at some point. For those that don't know, they play wax cylinders.

I do own portable two gramophones from the early 1930s and a load of 78s.

I am on some Facebook groups so I will ask on ther3 for peoples opinions on whether it's worth going earlier but I don't think, for what I'm interested in, it will be. 9-10:30 is £25 and 10:30 to 16:00 is £10.

This is one of the few times when vbeing able to drive and owning a car would be useful but it isn't often enough.
