Correct. The Chesterfield, Barnsley and Rotherham DayRiders have been discontinued in favour of the much more expensive Silver DayRider...
The problem with this arrangement for Chesterfield residents is that with the aforementioned Silver DayRider ticket, you can Travel between Chesterfield and Pontefract some 50km away as the crow flies, yet you cannot get past Kelstedge 8km away to the south-west!
Even using local Matlock/Crich services requires the £9.50 Gold Dayrider. Mental!
If travelling wholly within Derbyshire (and also to/from Sheffield City Centre) then a Derbyshire Bus Wayfarer is £8 for the day with no time restrictions and undercuts the Gold DayRider.
How long it remains at £8 is another matter though…!
A change to the 470 was implemented on 6 January, it no longer serves Darley Dale:
From Monday 6th January 2025, service 470 is being rerouted to serve Oker and Snitteron in both directions. Due to these changes, the service will no longer serve Darley Dale.
The 470 was only running via Darley Dale because the road between Snitterton and Oker was closed due to a landslip. School bus or not, it remains Snitterton and Oker's only bus service, whereas Darley Dale has plenty.

The Gold ticket, even at £9.50, is fantastic value if you are travelling long distances as it covers such a large area from Nottingham or Matlock right up to Pontefract or Wakefield. Anyone travelling in Chesterfield and the north of the Gold ticket area also the Silver ticket available at £6.50. It’s always seemed unfair to me that there isn’t something equivalent to the Silver ticket which covers the south of the Gold Dayrider ticket area.
The Matlock/Crich area does indeed require the £9.50 Gold ticket as does the Alfreton/Ripley area. The Derbyshire Wayfarer can reduce the cost to £8 but that doesn’t help with journeys which go over the border into neighbouring Nottinghamshire. Perhaps the fact that the Gold Dayrider Ticket area also covers a large part of Stagecoach East Midlands area is the reason why there isn’t a Silver equivalent in that area. Mansfield still has its local Dayrider, but you don’t have to travel far out of Mansfield to reach large areas where the only day ticket available is the £9.50 Gold Dayrider.
There is no multi operator ticket available in Nottinghamshire so perhaps the new mayor of the combined Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas could come up with something soon.
As of today, the 48 now serves Ashgate, Old Brampton, Wigley and Wadshelf.
From Monday 13th January 2025, we are extending Chesterfield service 48 beyond Brampton to additionally serve Ashgate, Old Brampton, Wigley and Wadshelf.

Your last paragraph almost suggests an East Midlands Oyster style card. Valid any time, any bus with daily caps. One price in City of Derby, another City of Nottingham, and a county/cross county daily cap. Tap on, tap off and you just get the best fare no matter where you go. Could replace all the different caps /apps etc. Maybe not.
48036 has entered traffic in Chesterfield this week. This vehicle has leather high back lazzerini seating with USB power! A touch above sisters 48022 and 47958.
Furthermore, driver training on the new Yutongs for Stonegravels is to commence on the 20th
Of possible interest to some, Stagecoach Yorkshire will be operating a shuttle bus to Magna from Meadowhall Interchange and Rotherham Interchange for the winter edition of the Great British Beer Festival taking place there 12-15 February. Service will operate between roughly 4pm and 11pm each day, generally on a half hourly frequency. Flat fare of £2.50 will apply. As it is a special event service rather than a local network bus no other tickets/passes can be used. Event info at winter.gbbf.org.uk. The timetable is on bustimes.org (service X3a and X3b - it is designed to supplement the normal local service bus X3 which only runs once an hour in the evening). It is expected to be operated with single deckers from Rawmarsh depot.

The event organisers pay to hire the buses and the fares collected are deducted from the cost!
In the case of Barrow Hill they traditionally ran a free shuttle using heritage buses that are based at the roundhouse with a rattle bucket on board, however times move on and the event has got bigger and the bus operation has had to go professional!
There are some other events at Don Valley Bowl and Magna, primarily music festivals, that have shuttle buses, it is usually TM Travel that get those gigs! Of course the dynamics at Magna may change next year when the new station is open and served by Tram Train!
It seems odd to me that things like the local football matches, and Steelers games at the Arena don't have dedicated buses. Yes, the latter has the tram but only from certain directions, and parking there has shot up in price.
When there is a match on at Chesterfield you see people walking from quite some distance away, obviously having found whatever back street they can to park on. I'm sure something more organised would be possible.

The Arena's primary transport is the tram with the Yellow route and Tram Train together providing a frequent service, park & ride using the tram to the Arena is becoming increasingly popular with many Steelers fans parking up at Meadowhall.
In terms of buses, the Arena is served by the 18/18a, X3, X17 and 207 although the evening service is somewhat limited (and post event traffic tends to be bad with cars leaving the car park), however I think most tend to get a tram to either Sheffield City Centre or Meadowhall to make connections.

There used to be a clapped out double decker operated by DW Coaches? of Clay Cross that shuttled between Chesterfield town centre and the football ground.
There really isn’t a need for a designated CFC bus as there is no shortage of Stagecoach buses from the town centre to/from the stadium, admittedly less frequent after evening or any Sunday matches.

DW still seem to run a lot of very old buses. I saw what I assumed was a preserved B10M a few months back, maybe L reg, something of that vintage. Turned out it was one of theirs on a contract.

I'd venture the number who drive and abuse street parking probably suggests the opposite. There are plenty of buses up Sheffield Road, but from other directions there are few or none. There isn't even a decent link to the station, the only option being to walk to somewhere like Stephenson Place. Connectivity across Chesterfield is pretty much nil, all services run in to the centre so there are plenty of cases where you'd need to get a bus in and another out to do what is a relatively short journey as the crow flies. Newbold to Tesco / Sainsburys being an obvious one - a direct link there would make a load of sense to me, but they won't even consider trying it, and thus we get really bad traffic because there is no option but to drive.

The X17 isn't an option for the majority of games. Even with the new evening service on that leg, the last bus past the Arena is around 8 going to Barnsley and 9:15 coming to Chesterfield on a Saturday. Most games seem to face-off at 7, so at best you'll be out around 9:30-9:45, if it goes to OT then well after 10.
I used to live in Stockport and go to watch Manchester Storm, a similar distance as Chesterfield to Sheffield Arena. You wouldn't dream of driving to the MEN, but it makes little sense to do anything else here, and that's one reason why I go to very few Steelers games.
Sundays of course, forget it - the match won't have faced off before the last bus passes on the X17.

But who is going to pay £5+ to park in Chesterfield town centre and then catch a bus service or dedicated bus to the football ground costing about £2.50 per person each way.
There is ample on street parking within 10-15 minutes walk of the stadium, although I admit some of the cars could be parked more considerately!

I'm not really thinking about parking in the town centre. There are plenty of places like industrial estates you could make arrangements to use the parking in for example. Few if any of the units will be operating on a Saturday afternoon, fewer on a Sunday.
I don't know where CFC draws fans from (I have no interest in football...) but maybe a service from Walton via Newbold would pick a few up on the way, if any come from further could even start it at Bakewell or Matlock?
I'm sure the locals don't consider it ample on street parking - even without the football most streets have limited space and many within 10-15 minutes walk have access restrictions to ban match day parking.
We were discussing on another forum whether they'll want to keep a few of the E400s as spares. While the PVR is hard to be sure of as the October timetable change has some very creative diagrams to control daily mileage, I reckon it is at least 53. With only 57 buses on order I can't see 4 being enough cover. While they could just keep more E200s than are needed for the DCC services that would risk being low on capacity if one needed to cover for an E400.
As an aside, how is the installation of the chargers coming on? I saw the local councillor in charge of transport got her picture plastered across the local rag the other day when they started the work, but it didn't say how long it would take. Presumably there must be some charging available for the Yutongs?

Likely to be a 3-phase supply to the building already so I'm sure something could be rigged up. Otherwise I guess movements to Rotherham or Sheffield Interchange whenever one needs topping up?
The Yutongs were brought forward and are expected to be in service mid-February. (It's been a scramble to get the next stop announcements ready in time!)

Would it be a decent guess that these are for the 1/2, 5/38, 39 and 74? Seems to fit numbers-wise (6x E10s on the 5/38/39, 11x E12s for the 1/2/74 with a spare).
It was mentioned there might be an event planned for the launch - have you heard anything? Not sure if it will be public or employees only of course.
