Hi, does anybody know if there's freight tracker, a bit like realtimetrains here in the uk for Germany, as I'm going in march for 10 days, Because I'm interested where the freight is coming and going too.

Much appreciated

Josh

Deutsche Bahn does not publicly release information about train locations. The best you can do is estimate from the departure board information which contains times estimated based on train locations, recovery times, known incidents and short term re-planning.

They don't even share with their own staff how exactly the times were derived. This occasionally leads to announcements along the lines of "the magic box says we are going to be delayed but I don't know why" :D

Again: as is always said best source for train bookings is the relevant local railway: in this case the German equiv of this forum-so many times mentioned, is drehscheibe-online.de. It is also divided up in many branches. I myself, though very often with the cheap DE-ticket travelling in DE, do not do freight, but from what I understand there is not really a national/centralised source for this, one has to check various sites of the multitude of freight-running operators, plus that actual operator may even be different from the responsible company for that ride.
Suggest you take a look there first.

Thank you very much, all of you for your answers. I will have a look at that Zugfinder and that forum.
