Hello all, first time on this forum.

My far better half purchased a 3-year senior railcard today online.

We entered the passport details and took a photo, which we uploaded.

When on the app it displays her name, issue - online and valid until date; it also has, a barcode with a long number next to it.

However, the image where the photo should be is completely greyed out; is this correct, or should a photo be displayed?

It seems we're unable to upload another photo.

If anyone knows the definitive answer, it would be most welcomed, as she currently thinks she has thrown £70 down the drain.

Thanks in advance.

I thought a photo wasn’t required for a senior railcard? At least it isn’t in paper form

I renewed my senior railcard last month for a 3-year digital one, and it required a photo (which uploaded fine and displays on the app).

Mine does show my photo when I press the 'view railcard' button - the wife has the plastic card version that has no photo. There is a link to contact them, press the gearwheel (top right) - I suggest you ask them what went wrong.

I couldn't see another thread on this but I turn 60 in June and thought I'd apply in advance for my Senior Ralicard. However, the site linked from the National Rail site won't allow me to buy one in advance (ideally I'd like a plastic one and they take up to 10 days...). I'd have though that they could create one that starts on my birthday, any other options please?

Looks like you can buy up to 2 weeks in advance, it is happy up to the 27th May right now

Yes, you can buy it a little in advance, no need for a photo, arrives well before your birthday (well, mine did). Not too long in advance because there's nothing to stop you using it once you get it, so they don't mind an additional week or so of use but aren't going to send it months in advance.
