Good guess! But it's not El Marg (المرج).

It's a station on the main line connecting Cairo to Upper Egypt (i.e. the South).

The platforms shown are served by mainline trains (one of which is in the photo) while immediately adjacent to these platforms are 2x metro platforms (the name of the metro station has a completely different name to the mainline railway station).

That's right @Gag Halfrunt!

Through mainline trains (like the Aswan sleeper trains) call at platforms directly adjacent to Giza metro station, while the local mainline trains to Fayoum terminate at the platforms pictured next to Omm el Misryeen metro station. These terminating platforms are labelled on some timetables/maps as "Giza Suburban", but I think formally they're just a part of Giza station.

Girona has gloomy subterranean platforms for high speed trains built deep below the old station. I don't think it is the station in the photo, though, as I remember it having more platforms and a concrete roof as well as the walls. Was your station built for a high speed line?
