Interesting phrasing. Are Transdev buying out Reliance outright, part of it or have they merely come to an agreement to take over the routes?
I note also that Transdev's short hop tickets are significanlty more expensive than those of Reliance at a whopping £2.50 post-£2-fare-cap. This will go down with like a lead zeppelin for people who make journeys from the South end of Sowerby to Thirsk, of which there are often a few non concessionary passengers, and they've likely priced themselves out of this market. But there may be a potential silver lining in that a better resourced company may be able to properly invest in services in a way that Reliance have struggled to, initially the timetables are worse, but we'll have to wait and see what happens long term, Transdev are usually pretty good at providing a fairly comprehensive service in other areas they serve commercially.
