I noted an inconsistency from the TFL website Your Journey by Elizabeth line web page...

Fares and ticketing

  • Contactless pay as you go is accepted throughout the Elizabeth line
  • Oyster pay as you go and valid Travelcards are accepted but not west of West Drayton
  • Customers using Oyster to pay as you go who want to travel to or from stations beyond West Drayton will need to use contactless instead or buy a paper ticket
  • TfL concessions are accepted
  • Customers with a Railcard discount set on their Oyster card benefit from 1/3 off off-peak pay as you go fares

and the Disabled persons railcard conditions...

Discounts for Oyster pay as you go in London.

1/3 off Oyster pay as you go single fares and daily caps.

Register the Disabled Persons Railcard onto an Oyster card at any London Underground Station or National Rail ticket office issuing Oyster cards to use on National Rail, London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services to receive the discount.

Railcard holder discount.

Oyster pay as you go discounts are for the Disabled Persons Railcard holder only.

only the first reference (TFL) has mention of applicability to off-peak fares only (or at least implies that)

And Travelcards are valid west of West Drayton if they're issued from a station west of West Drayton as the origin

They are not valid as Travelcards - west of West Drayton they are simply return tickets.

An outboundary Travelcard consists of two elements in one ticket:
  • A return to the boundary of Zone 6; and
  • A Travelcard

The same validity can be purchased in reverse, by purchasing an (inboundary) Travelcard, plus a Boundary Zone 6 extension ticket; the latter would be valid west of West Drayton (where appropriate/apploicable) but the latter would not be (by itself; but does need to be held, to validate the former).

The Disabled Railcard gives discounts on peak TFL fares. Many Railcards only give discounts on off peak TFL fares.

So the first quote is about Railcards in general whilst the second is about Disabled Railcards only.

I meant Travelcard seasons. I should have been more specific!
