Hello - does any reader know whether this morning's 0Y44 Hoo Junction Up Yard to Eastleigh East Yard ran with three locos as showing on data fed to RTT?
Or was there a late change (e.g. this data is showing both the "intital allocated loco" as well as the "subsequently allocated loco")?

There’s no reason why it wouldn’t run as three, the moves from one engineering base to another frequently have several locos. Indeed Railcam is showing all three as ‘sightings’.

I'm conscious that previous instances of "multi-loco / multi-unit lash ups" in these coastal parts, turned out to be due to spurious data, not the actual haulage. Hence why I've asked.
And also because I'll be gutted if I've missed a photo of "three on", whilst I was walking the dog this morning! :D

You've mentioned RailCam sightings - do you mean that this specific working has had visual confirmation on RailCam that the three locos were on it? Was it three up front, or top / tail?

The headcode started with a ‘0’ suggesting it was a light engine move. The three locos had a sighting symbol next to them on RailCam, suggesting that a user had seen the train.
If it’s any consolation, this kind of move often have lash-ups on them, so I’m sure you’ll get another chance!

Ah of course. 0xxx. Light engines. Whilst three L/E is rare on the Portsmouth Direct (the only other I can think of, was three GBRf 73s in 2022), I'd have been more gutted if they'd taken a civil engineer consist.

Edit: I've realised 6X44 was replaced with 0Y44. Light engines rather than a train. Concurs with the helpful information from @Class15 and @FrodshamJnct
