Hi! I was told you would be a great person to proofread a letter to the rail company about no ticket incidents. I would really appreciate your help as I don't really understand how best to approach it.

I made a prosecution payment of my final settlement offer on the website ircas.co.uk, but was wondering if there's anything else I'd need to do in regards to the case. Will the charges be dropped now or what?
Thanks

It’s the end of it.

No charges have been raised in court and if you paid up according to their terms they won’t be raised. There’s nothing to drop. The rail company will have a record, that’s all.

There is nothing further you need to write to them.
You do not have a criminal record because of this.

Just don’t do whatever it was that you did again ………

Just keep proof of your payment, and keep it long term (eg at least a year), keep any receipt that was issued when you paid too - and also keep all the paperwork.

You probably don't need any of it again, but just n case you do it will make life way simpler if you have kept it and can find it easily.

If anything else happens in relation to this in future head back to this forum where you will get good advice on what to do.

That is the end of this matter no further action from the train company this time. However you are now on thier radar as it were so further transgressions will likely result in you being threatened with prosecution ( although ussually settled out of court if you cooperate with them but at a cost of £150+ and the evaded fare)

On the contrary, having been offered an out of court settlement on this occasion, being on their radar means they are much more likely to prosecute second time around, particularly if it looks like clear fare evasion (as opposed to, say, having a railcard expired by a few days - but you should try very hard to avoid any situation which puts you at their mercy, so make absolutely sure you have the correct ticket before you board your train.)

Please give us the dates of the letters, but on the face of it you have complied with their requirements, have made payment and don't need to do anything further.

I would certainly be keeping all paperwork - at least for a year, just in case you need it or there is some admin error their end.
