Package from New York to England?

Hi all,

I have a package due to come from New York, it's a smallish box, with 2 hoodies. However my friend sending got a price today to send and it was $250, they didn't send as they wanted to talk before to discuss options.

There must be a cheaper courier to get this to me? The cost of the contents really is nothing so I cannot justify that much.

I used to buy often from the USA when I collected die cast vehicles and sports memorabilia but many years have passed and obviously this comes as a shock,

Any options appreciated!!

Have your tried any of the parcel broker sites like Parcel2Go or Parcelhero? They will give you a range of options with different carriers. I just did a test enquiry on ParcelHero and it came up with a cheapest rate of £32. Parcel2Go came up with a cheapest rate of £110 New York to UK - which I must say is still a bit expensive.
Also, has your friend asked the US Postal Service for a quote? In my experience, the old fashioned postal operators have some of the best prices.

I'm honestly not even sure who they asked so I'll suggest they check USPS!

Box size/weight is important here, I'd get the dimensions and weight before doing any price comparisons for your friend.
