Nothing at the moment. Im the same, been in the talent pool since December 23 (when I did the paper tests). Emailing every few months for updates. Fingers crossed we get some news in the new year.
I think the pay increase has caused retirement-bound drivers to stay on, and im sure someone told me not long ago they have still been interviewing in Cardiff up until atleast a few months ago, if that is true it makes me question whether they have a bigger plan and know something we dont.
There won't be any driver recruitment this year.
Seems like Cardiff have over recruited? I’m in the same boat, waiting for Cardiff. I’ve sent two emails over the last 3 weeks just to chase, not had a reply.
Yeah I think so, pay increase has led to more senior employees not retiring. Ive not been getting much response either.
The cost is neither here nor there for TfW. It's a sunk cost regardless - everyone could fail the driver interview or medical and they still paid for testing (which is done in house anyway).
It has already been extended to 3 years

Part of the issue as well is the scaling back of the timetable plans. Fewer trains are being run in 2025 than was originally planned a few years ago, and fewer trains means fewer drivers.
