Stagecoach have done away with the gold branding, as new buses are fitted out to gold standard now anyway, a lot of the gold buses have been repainted into standard livery.

Irony is, the batch of 67 plate MMC 400s, they're fitted out to gold standard but the ones delivered to Birkenhead are in gold livery from new, whilst the ones delivered to Preston are in standard livery from new.

Usual bus times precaution but it looks like the 2 ex Peoplesbus E200MMcs have moved from Preston to Chester with 36804 going other way (not sure what the other bus to move is)

Preston is getting/has received 2 new Yutongs for the BAE contract, the contract that the Peoplesbus MMC generally worked.

Posted on another forum is a Brand new Solo SR (YJ74 CXH) apparently parked in Chester Depot no fleet numbers on it

Is it just passing through or is it a extra order for Merseyside?

I believe 3 have now turned up no idea of fleet numbers or if they are for Chester or Just passing through

GKA472L have you had any info on these as I know you seem to get very reliable information

YJ74CXH (48192), YJ74CXK (48193) & YJ74CXL (48194). Here to stay according to a commercial person within the division.

Meant for an enhanced service 6 in Ellesmere Port starting in January.

48192-4 for an enhanced 6 between Ledsham and Ellesmere Port.
That's interesting as currently 6 interworks with the short 2's and E7's

Any timetable for this service as Ledsham is a big extension to the current 6

Anyone know how the 84 Crewe - Nantwich - Chester is doing? The shorts look quite quiet except at school times (when standing room only). Hopefully sufficient demand to keep it half hourly Monday - Saturday.

D&G no longer operate the 84X on Sundays so there is a lack of public transport between Crewe and Nantwich then. Hopefully Stagecoach will look to increase its Crewe - Chester service from every 90 minutes to every 60 minutes soon enough

Sundays are tendered by Cheshire West Council on behalf of both Cheshire East and Cheshire West and so unless Stagecoach took it on commercially on Sundays, I think it will be reliant upon additional funding.

I live on the Nantwich to Chester section cannot comment on the shorts but loadings seem higher than when Arriva operated, this could bedue to the £2 fare cap. The busy one is the 093x ex Crewe sometimes full and standing usually a single decker M -F. Stagecoach operate a mixture of single and double deckers on the 84. The sunday service is subsidised if i remember correctly therefore unless it goes commercial I cannot see it altering.

I'm surprised Stagecoach still do the shorts , when you already have D&G 84X.
Also the the dead miles from Chester

Due to additional traffic round Cheshire Oaks yesterday most 1 and X1s were running late in both directions yesterday, I caught 13:20 X1 from Chester-Birkenhead which ended up leaving Chester at 14:00, got to Cheshire Oaks and traffic was quite slow moving and by the time we had got to Marks and Spencer's we had lost even more time which meant he was running almost 1 hour late as a result he must have got permission to actually miss Cheshire Oaks out and instead run out of service to Birkenhead as a drop off service only so he could get back on time for his return journey.

Cheshire Oaks is going to be a nightmare for reliability until Christmas, one of the 1s ended up arriving in Liverpool 75 minutes late, & some terminated short at Birkenhead Bus Station

Cheshire Oaks has always been bad but thanks to the actions of the wonderful people who run this division, they have kept cutting buses to Cheshire Oaks and so people are now as good as forced to drive. Constant cuts and dismal reliability due to the new buses being godawfully slow. Before there were more buses so more people chose to use the bus as it was more of an option (more people on the bus = less cars), and the buses operating (the E300s) had some oomph behind them so between Chester Zoo and the Oaks buses could get up to 50 in a decent time and you could get off stops much quicker. With the new 400MMCs, I've seen mobility scooters pull off quicker" For a long route which stops at a lot of stops, they are absolutely awful. Really poorly specification mechanically for such an intense route. Caused no end of punctuality issues since the enviro 300s got took off the route.

That's nothing new.. 1/X1, 2's, 5's and 102/3 always struggle in and around Cheshire Oaks at Christmas

Looking at the Cheshire Oaks area, most of the roads are 2 lanes, it's only Stanney Lane (the lane to/from Ellesmere Port Town Centre) that's single lane, but most traffic to Cheshire Oaks comes from the M53 i think putting in a bus lane in the area & on some of the approach roads could help with reliability.

The issue is that you'd be putting in bus lanes which are only useful for a few days per year. That's a very hard sell. 95% of the year, the approach roads that most of the buses use are free flowing.

Probably just rumours but it would be the first for Merseyside/Cheshire/Wales garages. I heard that Arriva COULD give up their St. Helens garage.

I saw the same 'internal memorandum' on a Facebook group briefly; it's now disappeared. It may have been a mock.

Incidentally, what will be left of Arriva North West once the final tranche of the Bee Network kicks in?

Why has this been posted in a Stagecoach chat not Arriva one?

Tbh few years back I did here Transdev were after Bootle and 2 other Merseyside Depots and transdev officials at the time were around but that rumour faded

However now with franchising and apparently Merseytravel only allowing companies to have 30% of any franchise then Transdev may bid for 30% of the Merseyside franchise for themselves

Because at 1am there was no sign of anything remotely regarding Arriva in our area so I asked the question here.

If it's a fake as suggested above, it's a good one.

It is fake, the thread about it has now been deleted.
