Should C2C be merged with Greater Anglia?

No. c2c is completely self contained apart from the weekend extension to Liverpool Street. We don't want Greater Anglia propagating delays into the c2c network.
I don’t think delays would propagate as the LTS would still be operationally distinct from the Great Eastern. Saying that C2C and Greater Anglia should be merged is not the same as saying that LTS services should be moved to Liverpool St as that would actually cause delays.

They do use mainly 3x to pair a triple traction on the intercity diagram & sometimes another spare 3x if 1 or 2 745s taken out of service in which, has exactly been happening in the past 2/3 weeks.
Thank you, would make sense to take a 745 off of Stantsteds to put on the Norwich to Liverpool Street diagram which is currently operated by 755s, which could then cascade a 720 for Stansteds.

No I wouldn’t take all of the 745s off the Stansted express, otherwise the WAML would look incredibly boring with only being a full uniform of 720s in operation between mountfitchet & Liverpool Street. Running a 745 up to Cambridge in the near future could be possible as the 755s can. If the 720s can go further north to Ely on the WAML, they should eventually go to Norwich.

I don’t think train operators and accountants take boring into consideration when planning rail services.

Total 720 operation along the mainly 2-track WAML makes sense to me especially when it comes to rescuing failed trains.

Some 720s could be cascaded to c2c, with some of the oldest 357s stood down. I even wonder whether some 357s could replace earlier EMUs, possibly reduced to 3-car, but that is digressing a bit.

My local station is one of the semi rural ones on the Ipswich - Bury St Edmunds section of the Cambridge route and the 755's serve us very well, except for the normal 'big' delays, trees down, freight train broken down etc they are consistently very good trains. To threaten to have a situation where any delays from the GEML are imported onto local services on this route and Ipswich to Lowestoft would surely be a negative move.
