Dec 2020 passed all but the 2 hand test, but will wait for email (if I have got through to assessments) to ask wether my results still hold
Ok good luck. I'm sure I read somewhere you can use the previous pass results for up to 5 years...

You checked your application status? I’ve not had an email yet but my status has gone from VSE to OPC stage 1.

Just shows as blank sadly!

I believe Chiltern's validity period is 5 years, but that would meed you'd need to get onto a course before Dec 2025 if you passed the 2hand and MMI on your 2nd go. Good luck!

Seems strange how they're doing it, some have passed DMI now, some have been invited to assessments, others have had their status changed to assessments but not been invited yet.

Yeah but they did a recruitment drive for Birmingham Moor street in April this year so I’m assuming there’s very little vacancies so they’re handpicking a few for it, my status says OPC stage 1 whereas someone I spoke to who’s been invited, their status is OPC stage 2, so maybe I was wrong to assume that I was through. Is what it is I’ll just wait and see if I hear anything.

Congratulations, I guess it goes to show emailing the recruitment team and explaining your situation can be beneficial.

As far as I know it’s a pass or fail thing, there’s no enhanced.

They mean do Chiltern require a 'standard' or 'enhanced' pass mark for the MMI but ultimately it doesn't matter - as you say you either pass or fail. The score achieved is irrelevant.

I think it may just be a website glitch on the status page? Some people have stage 1 and some have stage 2, yet no one has actually been to the assessments yet. So whilst the website seems to reflect different stages, in reality we may all be in the same place? The confirmation email I received suggested that stage 1 takes place first, if you fail you're turned away otherwise you progress to stage 2 all in one day. I believe you & I applied for the same depot so I am just working that assumption on the applicants for BMO.

I am going to assume that also includes an interview at that assessment day.

This is what I thought was weird, statuses don't tend to progress if you're unsuccessful or not picked.

Id have thought it would have stayed at VSE, but I don't work in their recruitment so it's all just a waiting game.

The assessment day will include the MMI interview usually at the end of the day. Some applicants don’t get that far due to having failed a test earlier in the day. The MMI is not to be confused with the DMI which will be carried out at the TOC by a Driver Manager or similar.

I see where you’re coming from, not everyone who applies for jobs is on this forum though, and one person has been invited (so far) so they are progressing people.

I applied to WMT once along with a mate, within months I was at the OPC day, my mate heard nothing until middle of the next year, inviting him to the OPC tests, this was on the same recruitment drive as mine. That was COVID time though.

That’s the most frustrating part though, not knowing where you stand in the process whilst others are progressing.

Thanks. I take it most folks dress smart? I was advised there is no dress code for the assessment day (MMI included)

Log in to the Chiltern website and check the stage it says for your application. A few people's stages have gone from VSE to 1.7 OPC Stage 1 or 1.9 OPC Stage 2. Seems like the people at 1.9 OPC Stage 2 are the only ones who have heard back on completing the VSE.

I had an email from the hiring manager about doing a VSE so I replied saying I did it in 2023 but apparently it has to be reset. Anyone else been asked to redo it?

I have now had a link to the VSE sent from the OPC so I will do it tonight!

Treat it as an interview. Dress formal. When I completed my tests everyone dressed at the OPC was dressed in smart wear such as shirt, trousers, shoes etc.

The VSE isn't like the other assessments it only lasts 6 months I think.. might not even be that long.

So if you did it in 2023, you'll have to do it again
