It's in the link - £72,465

So it is - thanks. Not properly stated so I missed it!

Lower than I seem to remember it being post pay dispute - is that inclusive of all allowances?

It would be great to see the full current figure - inclusive of pay award and all allowances - going into 2025 if anyone knows it. @iphone76 ?

They get staff oyster and nominee oyster. Staff oyster and nominee will save around £5000 a year. And plus priv card 75% off of NR travel

Obviously heavily dependent on where you live, how much you travel on public transport overall and your need/want to get around London for whatever reason.

Not thinking of London Overground by mistake are you? They are on a higher rate of £78k.
Both Elizabeth Line and London Overground had pay rises throughout the National pay dispute as they were not DfT controlled.

Hi. The figure of £72,465 is correct upto April 2024. The pay deal from April 2024 is still overdue. Hopefully it will be resolved this side of Christmas.

A rise of 4.5% would take us to £75,725.

The only allowances are if you are an instructor or team leader. These earn an extra £2.5/3k I think, but don't quote me on that.

No other allowances really. Overtime is paid flat rate at a minimum of 8hr 30m, but most jobs, especially PM are longer than that, so it doesn't really make much difference.

I think the difference between us and the Overground is that they can be rostered up to 26 Sundays, whereas we are limited to 21. They did try to bring us up to 26 a few years ago, but it was rejected. On average you do about 18 or so.

Personally I enjoy working for them. I don't find the jobs too bad, you get a mix of routes and systems (ETCS / TPWS / CBTC) and the managers are very supportive and approachable. We are due to hear before January 2025 who the new concession operator will be. I also enjoy the 8 on 2 off pattern as you get a solid amount of leave.

I hope that helps.

Just to point out to anyone reading along, that the Overground's 26 maximum rostered Sundays per year (along with their newly negotiated maximum rostered 26 Saturdays a year as well) exclude annual leave weeks.

Whereas annual leave weeks at Elizabeth Line are part of the base roster (8 weeks on, 2 weeks off, including banked rest days and annual leave weeks).
So 26 not including annual leave weeks, is probably about equal to 21 including them.

MTR Elizabeth Line Pay Negotiations – 1 Year Pay Award – 2024
Further to the recent pay negotiations I am writing with a formal proposal for the 1st
April 2024 anniversary pay offer for Driving grades for submission to your Executive
Committee for approval.
We commit to a 1 year pay award which consists of the following:
Pay
● One Year Pay Award backdated to 1 April 2024
● A 4.5% increase in headline salary which represents February 2024 RPI to all driving
grades, This will take the train driver salary from £72,465 to £75,725, driver Instructor from
£75,430 to £78,824 and Driver Team Leader from £76,090 to £79,514.
Increase in Overtime Rates of pay
● The introduction of an enhanced overtime rate from a flat rate to time and a half the hourly
rate for turns that exceed their finish time, including for report writing purposes and for
turns that exceed original turn length when being moved from spare.
Enhanced redeployment arrangements ~ Medical and Competency
● Full Driver basic salary protection for redeployed drivers for 12 months of the basic salary
following commencement of the redeployment process for all driver redeployment.
● A 4.5% increase to the £55,000 protected salary rate following the 12 month protected
period taking it to £57,475
● Guaranteed redeployment for medical redeployment cases.
Trauma payment
● A 4.5% increase in the trauma payment taking it from £1,741 to £1,819

@Jaytrains

Thankyou for that - it's always interesting comparing the details with other TOCs and where I work - not just headline pay.

Do you have an enhanced Rest Day Work rate?

Thankyou, I asked because the new pay proposal has an enhanced overtime rate, but Rest Day Work isn't mentioned. So it may either already have an enhanced rate, or Rest Day Work is curiously missing from the proposal.

No. Currently RDW is paid at flat rate subject to a minimum payment for 8.5 hours. That will remain as such under the current proposal. If you cover RDW at another depot, they add 2 hours minimum (or more if travelling further than an hour each way).

They are proposing that if for example you have an 8.5 hour spare and they move you onto a 9 hour job, just that half an hour extra will be paid at the enhanced rate of time and a half. Similarly, if you have to stay after your shift to complete a report, just that additional 15/20 mins will be paid at the enhanced rate.

Note that the deal above was rejected in a recent referendum so talks are still ongoing.

Thankyou @iphone76 for clarifying that it's only enforced/compulsory overtime that was proposed to have an enhanced rate.
