I got sent a Hull Trains email for a 20% off flash sale a couple of months ago not long after signing up for emails.
The dates weren't suitable but looking to book soon.
Anybody know how often these occur please?

Not for me on NatWest, but Topcashback will give 0.85%. I imagine the two offers can be stacked.

My LNER offer with 5% on Amex runs out soon. There's a new 5% offer, but it's once per card only. There's also 5% off Avanti and their horrible booking engine, again, once per card only.

Not for me on NatWest, but Topcashback will give 0.85%. I imagine the two offers can be stacked.

If anyone uses NX Rewards they're on there at 10%. (It's not the simplest site to use compared to Quidco & TopCashback and there are lots of people very annoyed online about them after forgetting to cancel a free trial but the rates are very good...)

If I use an Amex card to buy say £200 worth of LNER eVouchers today, I can use them to buy non-LNER tickets within the next 12 months?

I'll then receive a 10% statement credit as well as the normal card cashback?

Yes - that's it. And to clarify (although I'm pretty sure that this is what you meant) you get the 10% statement credit and cashback when you buy the eVouchers with your Amex card, rather than when you redeem the vouchers for tickets.

Although you need to check that the offer is given on your card - for various reasons I have 2 Amex credit cards and previous iterations of this offer have been at 10% on one card and 5% on the other, although this time round it seems to be 10% on both.

On a laptop/desktop browser, login and just scroll down to the bottom of the 'Home' page where you'll see 'Amex Offers'.

You can also use the App, but haven't got my phone to hand at the moment.

Update: by App, login and at the bottom there's an 'Offers' tab where they are all listed.

When buying an evoucher LNER will ask if you want to use your Perks balance to pay. DOn't do this as it restricts the evoucher to LNER Advance tickets only.

I've just opened an LNER account and haven't signed up for Perks - I'm on the other side of the Pennines and fairly unlikely to ever use LNER Advance tickets.

I stumbled on these £1 fares when booking a Birmingham to Cambridge itinerary today for next month. I wanted to cross off the Marston Vale line, having heard so much about it, added Bletchley and Bedford as via points, to pick up an EMR Connect service to St Pancras. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the breakdown of the split but this explains it.

Well after many years looking I finally took the Marston Vale Route.
Looking at the timetable I didn't take in how close the station's are to one another, very enjoyable journey on the 10:45 Dep from Bletchley.
Due to a 10 mins connection at Bedford I did keep an eye on the timings, only a 1 min delay, brilliant journey for £1.

Glad you made it, the service was suspended most of the day when I had planned it, due to a staff shortage! Neither diagram was operating. I would have accepted an hour delay but ended up going to Euston and got home a lot earlier!

The Marston Vale £1 promotion won't be extended for a third time, so 16 November will be the last day.

London Northwestern Railway is encouraging passengers to take advantage of the £1 tickets on the Marston Vale Line, with less than one week to go before the offer ends on Saturday 16th November.

Under the offer, a single journey between any two stations on the Marston Vale Line costs just £1 for adults and 50p for children.

The offer was first launched in February 2024 to celebrate the resumption of a full timetable on the Marston Vale Line, which consists of 12 stops across Bedfordshire’s rolling countryside, connecting Bedford and Bletchley.

The full hourly timetable has now been in operation for nine months, with more than 184,000 people travelling on the line since the offer was introduced. The promotion represents a discount of up to 90% in comparison to the standard fare for a one-way journey.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director for London Northwestern Railway, said: “As the ticket offer enters its final week, we want to thank all our passengers who have taken a discounted journey in the past nine months. The response to the offer has been fantastic, and we’re delighted to see so many enjoying this picturesque route, whether they’re commuting or travelling for leisure.”

The full Marston Vale Line timetable sees hourly services running in each direction between Bedford and Bletchley from Monday-Saturday, including bank holidays.

But their is still £2 ticket availability between the dates if your not bothered about the market.

I had an unexpected opportunity to use the line yesterday (just in time it seems!) and had a very nice journey to Bedford in the late afternoon sunshine, the filthy windows adding a sepia tint to the rolling countryside. Ehen we reached Stewartby there was a queue of sixth formers easily 100m long, extending along the road, to board the 150, and they all seemed to get on pretty efficiently as we didn't lose any time. They were well enough behaved, but it made me wonder what on earth they'd do during cancellations or the recent lack of service!
