Oh ok thanks, have you progressed through the process & started training already? If so how long was the full process?
No, so in April I was put into a holding pool after passing the SJT but they’ve got rid of the holding pool for some reason and made everyone apply again if they were still interested

I thought the questions seemed the same as the advert in April or have you done one for a different TOC?

Same thing happened to me. Passed the SJT’s, then only told a couple weeks ago that my application had been withdrawn. On the same boat - having to re do the tests again

That’s what happened to me anyways. Not sure if anyone managed to actually do the psychometric testing, but I was told I passed onto that stage then nothing happened
OK I have the OPC written tests in the bank so we shall have to wait and see

All - what process does Greater Anglia follow? Application SJT - then what?

If anyone knows that would be great

Hi All - does anyone know the process stages GA follows, application, then SJT, then?

Thanks for any help in advance

Hi All - can anyone confirm what the application stages are for GA?

Application, then SJT, then?
Last time they took 10 days to tell me I was in a talent pool, but this time nothing yet. Supposed it depends when and if they need the staff at the time

Process is SJT then psychometrics then manager interview.
There are a large number of drivers needed in the short to medium term across the company.
The academy is running at max capacity and churning trainees out regularly. If you don’t hear back it’s just luck of the draw I’m afraid and keep trying

Hi guys, i applied for this on 10/11 and got an email the next day for SJT. I completed it on 11/11 but now still haven’t heard anything. Does it usually take a while to hear back from them?
Thanks

When I completed the SJT in the previous campaign I heard back the following week to say I had passed, although it took another 6 months to get invited to the next stage…

Just got an email from GA saying I wasn't successful as I didn't pass the online SJT. Can't believe it! I focused on safety for the answers. They must have turned the computer pass rate to extremely high. 1 wrong answer and you are out!

That's a shame mate I thought a few of the questions didn't seem to have much of a safety aspect to them, more customer interactions and wasn't too sure with them.

Sorry my friend. I am currently waiting for an email. Can I ask what the heading of the email was?

The email stated 'In regards to your application for Trainee Mainline Driver'....
Still dont understand how I didn't pass. Only 2 that i wasnt sure on. (mainly because the situation was too vague and had multiple correct answers). just went with the safety answer for them.

Maybe no news is better than nothing? Last time it took them 10 days to say I passed and was in a talent pool. This time heard nothing which is 2 weeks later at time of writing

Passing an SJT is a fine balance. The answer isn't the safety one, or the customer service one. It's invariably the "middle ground" answer. The one that shows you're a rounded/balance individual.

I’ve successfully passed many an SJT and this is pretty much it.

There will be times where there are clear-cut wrong answers and one clear-cut right one, but a lot of the time the answers will be quite similar and you need to figure out which one is optimal. Usually, that’ll be the one that shows you balancing customer service with safety, conflict de-escalation with following procedure, communicating clearly with communicating accurate information, etc.

Thanks for the SJT tips. I'll use those next time GA post again (hopefully next year). I must admit I did feel like a robot answering just safety first. But I thought that's what they wanted to hear.

And that's why you failed, unfortunately.

They can spot very quickly someone who's answering what they think is wanted.

Never worry too much about the sjt. When I was trying to get a trainee role I would pass some and fail others. I passed all the psychometric tests but was unsuccessful at the driver manager interview and then applied to quite a few companies and sometimes passed the sjt and sometimes failed. As a qualified driver if I was to apply now for trainee roles just to see , I guarantee you I wouldn't pass every sjt.
