Glasgow to Preston Off Peak Day Return, validity via Settle

I am looking at doing Glasgow to Carlisle then down the Settle line to Settle where I change onto the Manchester Victoria Bound service to Blackburn. Then return to Glasgow via Preston. Is a off peak day return Glasgow to Preston valid via Settle?

Glasgow-Manchester does, see map MG. You could stop short at Blackburn. Cost a bit more of course. No day return.
Glasgow-Blackburn not valid via S&C either, just the first three map combinations as above for Preston. Unless it’s the shortest route, which it might be.
EDIT I think Carlisle-Blackburn is 2 miles shorter via Hellifield than via Preston, so it’s a valid route. Still no day return ticket, I know.

A better option for that is the North West Round Robin (£49.20) and one of the Glasgow to Carlisle returns (£24.80 TPE Only, £26.20 Via Dumfries, £32.40 Any Permitted).

I don't think the Round Robin allows travel via Clitheroe.

Yes, I worked out that it’s the shortest route and updated my original post. So all valid on a Glasgow-Blackburn return, it’s just that there’s no day return for this. Off-peak return is £94.20.

Its routes seem to be: cut across to Carnforth from the S&C or go round the houses via Bradford.

And if you change onto the Blackburn train at Ribblehead/Settle you can ask the guard whether he will accept the Round Robin before buying said extra ticket.
