Man Picc disruption yesterday - what happened?

Anyone know how the trespasser in Levenshulme was on the line for so long? It was 3+ hours, I've read there were 40 police and fireman there and the street was cordoned off and people not allowed to leave their buildings?
Seems v odd for a trespass

Can't find any threads relative to this, but I think that this screenshot from Traksy highlights the true mess Stockport's prehistoric signalling causes during disruption. Tonight's trespasser blocked the line at Slade Lane Jn but Stockport was unable to turn trains back, and had to continue...

From what I can gather there was a trespasser, who after being aprehended or being talked away, escaped from the police and climbed up an overhead lines post. Trains were allowed to proceed, but had to very quickly be stopped again, leaving a number of trains backed up towards Stockport. Due to the length of time it took to resolve, some passengers then self-evacuated onto the tracks, and once the trespasser was finally dealt with, the trains couldn't start moving as they had ran out of battery.
