700e in operation once again. Glad to see the "better" BZL back.

It looked to have the new next stop/announcement system, though I haven't been on it to confirm.

Lothian won't go to Bo'ness wether it used to be part of the Lothian Region or not it's in Falkirk at present and likely to stay in that region for the foreseeable

Again I emphasis that I don't live in Edinburgh but since Lothian Buses, although owned by the local Councils, operates are as an arm-length commercial operation, so what is that could legally stop Lothian from operating into Falkirk or any other area if that was commercially beneficial to them? After all, they did operate in York for a short while.

I thought it did. However from what I saw when I travelled on it, it only has the screens as the bus stopping sign. Weirdly 700 has none.

Nothing, they could apply for and win London contracts if they so chose to or start a full fledged operation in Glasgow. Extreme examples obviously but there's nothing to stop them operating outside the Lothians.

Only routes booked on weekdays at the moment are the 8, 9 and then up to a couple on the 24. Anything else can be a more random or trial type scenario. The 24 will increase in its amount over the coming weeks with the next lot having been delivered.

I can't say for certain but given the location of the incident on the Cowgate, I doubt it. No Lothian services operate that way.

Several bus fanatics that I know (myself included) feel that the overall build quality on 700 is noticeably better than 701-711 (& most likely 712-750), & it does feel much more Lothian-y than the new BZLs (which feel like base BZLs with Lothian moquettes & flooring slapped on them).

I know the reports are saying 'single decker bus', but more likely to be a coach - also, a work colleague said a video they saw on-line from around the time of the incident shows a coach in the Cowgate

The BZL’s are out 7 days a week. Predominantly used on service 8 and 9 with a further 6 currently in seafield for prep

Yeah Gracemount and Gilmerton Road/Moredun, basically the whole south east of the city shut off

The seem to still be serving Edinburgh but stopping at Hermiston Park & Ride from West Lothian. The 25 has now also been diverted from Calder Road.
