Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see the appeal with C2C- Doo, intensive work and limited routes and traction. I can maybe see the appeal if you live around the corner.
Money for many people - however with Sundays inside at some TOCs and not others the attached chart is a bit warped. I know that XC are on over 80k with their Sundays now for example.Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see the appeal with C2C- Doo, intensive work and limited routes and traction. Yes there is a car park at East Ham depot.I've applied for this too. Much closer than my current TOC.
Would prefer East Ham depot.
Does East Ham have car parking available for drivers?
For turns that start or finish before first or last train?
Thanks
Depending on how many qualified drivers they take on as to if they recruit for any more trainees.Does anyone have any idea on whether them currently hiring qualified drivers is likely to mean they won't look to recruit any trainee train drivers this year? I know they usually only look to hire trainee drivers. Thanks
Have never seen any drivers position been extended. If anything they 98% of the time get closed early. Maybe they've received not enough applications ...Closing dates been extended from 27th Oct to 3rd Nov
Isit really? I've honestly never seen any ad be extended for qualified or traineeQuite common for qualified roles
Many many places extend, readvertise or indeed just permanently post Qualified advertsIsit really? I've honestly never seen any ad be extended for qualified or trainee
Ah that's fair enough i have never noticed it myself. I've seen the re advertising or permanent ads but never extending. Many many places extend, readvertise or indeed just permanently post Qualified adverts

As mentioned, much more common for qualified. Because people have to actively move from another driver role at another TOC so if the T&Cs and pay are one of the lowest and the depots are geographically disparare from other locations, they won't get many takers.
A TOC that struggles to attract candidates but won't accept relocation for QualifiedsSoutheastern being mentioned without being mentioned!
To be fair to C2C the pay is decent, and they are close enough to London to attract people who are based locally and want to avoid a commute into the centre.
Just seen that c2c are actually advertising for street to seat drivers again.Does anyone have any idea on whether them currently hiring qualified drivers is likely to mean they won't look to recruit any trainee train drivers this year? I know they usually only look to hire trainee drivers. Thanks
Oh wow. They did tbh say it would occur again, after my last dmi as east ham ended up unavailableJust seen that c2c are actually advertising for street to seat drivers again.

Earliest start time at East Ham is 04:10 at Shoebury it’s 03:40.Anyone know what the roster is like? Earliest start times/latest finish times?
Appreciate that, any idea what East Ham is like as a depot? Are most shifts 8 trips?Earliest start time at East Ham is 04:10 at Shoebury it’s 03:40.
Latest finish times 01:34 East Ham and 02:30 Shoebury.
From working at both during my time there, East Ham has the better shift times but generally more work content than Shoeburyness. The most irritating thing was the reliance on taxis that had a habit of being late or not showing up at all - especially if trying to get a train from Barking. Never bothered me on my way to work though, just on the way homeAppreciate that, any idea what East Ham is like as a depot? Are most shifts 8 trips?
