I'd like to think so, that blackout after Liverpool Street has become rapidly. Very frustrating as especially if you're working. You tend to lose track of where you are and then all of a sudden bang it's gone

Going through the Stratford tunnel this morning it seems they missed their own deadline (again)

But the constant missing of deadlines and press releases full of lies and wibble are becoming increasingly tedious and I just wish they'd stop setting themselves up to fail

It's turning into a comedy farce really isn't it? The telcos are running to their own deadlines, while TfL seem to be in their own little world with these inaccurate roll out maps, press releases and moving deadlines while at the same time keeping their fingers crossed behind their backs. What a mess. At this rate I can't even see them meeting their own 80% rollout deadline by the end of 2025.

For now, I'll settle for them completing the Lizzie line tunnels, which must be by far the easiest to do being new build and to modern standards compared to, for example, the Piccadilly or central line tunnel sections by the clothes of the year. They can't have much to do. In fact, they don't have much to do, Liverpool Street to White chapel and onwards to Stratford should be very straightforward, onwards to custom house and Woolwich not much more complex really

But is this anywhere near as important of running a reliable train service and the hazards of abnormally wide train-platform gaps. Nobody will die or even be injured by the lack of a continuous phone signal.

Sort of the point I was making earlier. If they are unable to do it or simply wish to roll back on it then why not? Just say it. And point out to the majority of people who would definitely understand that platforms at healing Broadway or reliability improvements, no one who's been using the Lizzie recently could deny that we need them are higher priority and that the connectivity rollout has either been paused or significantly slowed down.
That way you get the Great British public on your side again, as they see that they are focusing on reliable trains and a few less incidents with large gaps rather than making themselves look silly by constantly setting deadlines that they pretty consistently miss and thus providing both disappointment for people expecting the service and a constant supply of egg to face for those at a sufficient level have to take it

Also the Northern line is shown live down to Charing Cross, yet again on Vodafone not live south of Leicester Square.

I wonder if this map is accurate for some networks only, or are those sections not actually live yet?

Definitely live on the Victoria line for the shown sections for me on O2.

Last couple of times I travelled I noticed it's not brilliant on the actual platform at Warren Street on my phone anecdotally.

Nothing on victoria line for me on Vodafone, but works for my mate on EE

EE went live recently between Warren Street and Green Park. I have noticed that O2 seems to be the carrier where service is available the soonest.

It looks like TFL WiFi is now working on the trains themselves in the core
I traveled from Bond street to Stratford and could ping most of the way
I know it was TFL wifi as the public ip was registered to Icomera

I’m on Vodafone currently just left Warren St Northbound and still no signal.

Previous iterations of that map have also said signal was available even when it was just on o2.

Good news. Lizzy line reliability of late has seen me switch back to going via zone 1 and a number of London terminals for my journeys, but I look forward to trying this out next time I'm on the route

So of the ready for summer 2024 (which surely has passed now) we got... 3 short stretches of tunnel? Was meant to be the entirety of the EL and southern northern line, amongst other things. Absolutely glacial progress.

Plumstead Portal to Woolwich definitely has coverage, I’m using it now. Whitechapel to Custom House isn’t for me yet.

Maybe it has a lower priority. Given that on leaving Whitechapel, the portal is only 3.3 miles and less than 4 minutes away where full 4g/5g network coverage is available all the way to Shenfield..

Won't make any difference if they do or don't. Looks like the track noise issue is gathering steam (clue: it's a potential health issue) against which lack of continuous phone coverage is quite trivial.

The whole TfL page is confusing. As a regular user (just used it today), the tunnelled section east of Whitechapel has no coverage.

It is trivial in the grand scheme of things, of course it is. But TFL have voluntarily given completion dates that miss over and over again. If they just said 'we're working on it and it should be done by 2026' then fine. But they are announcing via big puff pieces in the media that 'we're doing this by x date and doing y by that date'

Nobody has asked them to, they have done that themselves. So I think it's fair for passengers to highlight that, seeing as no journalists seem interested in holding the multibillion pound organisation to account, and allow them to simply nuke their previous promises from the web.

These are completely separate issues, one does not make the other any less of an issue.
