Would it be a good idea to close Cheddington station?

Mentmore perhaps due to Mentmore House. Horton on the other hand is quite frankly just a road bottleneck with some houses on either side.
Im thinking more of making this New Cheddington into a seperate town from the current day village Cheddington (Old Cheddington). Its just giving a fields distance between the Old & New Cheddington so we can both have the village and the New Town!

For New Cheddington I'd be thinking of something Leighton Buzzard sized so it would definitely encompass those villages. Just building another tiny village is hardly going to give you significant usage at the station.

You absolutely want the station as the centre point, so you would need to move that down.

A sub-optimally located station is not an acceptable compromise to keep a 1960s-70s housing estate standalone. Mentmore probably has more merit than Cheddington. It's half and half 1960s social housing-a-like (don't know if it actually was social housing) and 1970s Barratt estate with a few cottages dotted around - basically it's West Bletchley in a field, of very little architectural, social or historical merit on its own.
