c2c are currently advertising for qualified drivers.

I couldn’t attach a link but it is in their website under the careers section

Very rare! But why oh why don’t companies just list the salary? It’s not like it’s some state secret!

Also I liked this typo…

c2c is just not a fantastic employer

It made me chuckle they'd like you to have experience driving a traction type that only they have

I wonder who this will mainly appeal to? Maybe GA drivers based in Southend as it's a decent pay rise for them..?
I would have absolutely applied had they advertised 2 years ago!

Anyone applying should be prepared for much more intense diagrams than at GA etc and a very different management regime.

I'd advise anyone who has an interview to ask for a copy of the roster and diagrams to know what you're getting yourself into.

You say that as if it's not a very good roster/diagrams??

Obviously I'm limited by what I can say in public.

However, I don't miss the the place. I believe someone from there has just started at the depot you're based at so might be worth giving them a shout.

As a qualified driver I always ask for diagrams and roster during the interview and most of the time the management have been happy to share or email it over afterwards. The only time this request was flat out refused was when I had an interview with TPE.

It's years since I have been down that way but this is one example I found buried in my Google photos.

From speaking to a friend, there are big similarities between C2C and South Eastern in the type of work it is being intensive DOO with various train lengths and much more to go wrong than elsewhere. If you're up for it and ready for the standard they expect from their drivers then then the salary is decent enough, however I'm much happer driving the pointy trains :)

Ouch! That must be one of the worst ones surely? Damn that seems bad. I drive the pointy trains lol and diagrams are nowhere near what you have shown .
The only thing that benefits me is the distance to east ham compared to where I am now I guess

I’ve not worked there, but I have done that type of work, and have a couple of colleagues from there: it’s a small route card, intensive work, fully DOO. The diagram @357 has posted looks fairly gruelling.

No doubt it’s a good way to get a key, or if you’ve only known that type of work, but might be a shock if you’re coming from freight/class 1 “pointy train” type work. Even if that involves a longer commute.

Their part time is a four day week, Monday to Fridays only covering the peaks IIRC, so very different to the job share arrangements you see at most places.

Yep average 4 day week but work Mon-Fri. Swap each weekend between earlies and lates. Most diagrams were OK, but don't have a real PNB due to the turn length. Shoeburyness part time only did early turns. At EH it's a link that lends itself to finding someone to do a permanent swap with.

That diagram is one of the worse ones but by no means unusual, especially at weekends or during engineering works.

An average full time shift is 3 round trips from Southend or Shoeburyness. East Ham cover more Grays shuttles and I think my record was 6 Grays and back with a 1 hour break, again at a weekend.

Thanks for the information mate it's a good insight to hear it from someone who's experienced it
