Hi, as above with a paper ticket kx to Cambridge, can you use a LNER service and get off at Stevenage to change? I guess in disruption you can, but what about normal service? Or are LNER tickets completely separate?

As long as its route any permitted I don't see why not.

Routing specifying either of the GTR brands or indeed Greater Anglia only, or advance tickets that involve specified trains would not be valid on LNER, unless of course the LNER train is specified.

As long as you don't have a ticket restricted to Greater Anglia or Thameslink/Great Northern this is perfectly fine yes. You may have to confirm which stations you're travelling between if there is a ticket check onboard but this will be totally fine.

In addition, it can't be a Gold Card discounted ticket, as Gold Cards aren't valid on LNER.

But a Network Railcard discounted ticket is absolutely fine.

On Gold Card discounted tickets between Kings Cross and Stevenage this restriction really makes absolutely no sense at all. Perhaps a new forum member who works at LNER might see this and do something about it ;)

Yet another example of ridiculous confusing restrictions that make no sense.

And yet you’d no doubt get prosecuted and end up with a criminal record should you fail to know the detail of every restriction yourself.

I just did a test on LNER and it allows me to select a gold railcard and then choose a LNER train when booking a ticket
.
It may not give any discount but neither does it give any warning that gold cards are never valid on LNER trains.

If you try to purchase such a ticket the payment fails and you get an error code. I’ve tried it several times.

That guy held a specific ticket for Lumo train which isn't valid on other services because Lumo is an open access operator. There's a conversation about customer service on that thread with the LNER senior representative, but it's dicey because Lumo's tickets are cheaper than others and thus there may be issues when trying to use them on non-OA operators.

See here:

What does that have to do with anything? Eurostar are an open access operator too, but the CIV apply to them, Lumo, and LNER, in the usual way.

Have you included the wrong link? I can't see anything there about missed connections?

Even your claim that Lumo's tickets are cheaper is often wrong. TransPennine Express are frequently cheaper than Lumo.

I only linked that thread to demonstrate that a senior member of staff at LNER has recently joined the forum.
