From what I’ve heard 018 has now been done in and is now a parts donor, sadly 64384s sounds cannot be enjoyed
I've herd 018 Is now withdrawn but still nothing on a scrap move as yet

Unfortunatley, when a G310 traction motor makes a lot of noise, its is fooked.
Not really, the sound the motors make comes from the gear teeth, pretty much just metal on metal contact, and over time the gear contacts wear away giving more vibration, it just so happens 64384s motor was very reliable, (usually called a strong motor) the actual motor only drives the gears to move and makes the whistling noise that you may notice during acceleration

I have worked on these (and other fleets & motors quite exstensily), but i do agree with what you say.:D

023 moved into P3 at Southport at 8am this morning. Presumably transferring to a depot or siding before the line block tomorrow

According to a helpful post on mersey railways it should currently be at Kirkdale and will end up at Birkenhead North Depot later today

It's in the HTML as "fixtures/images/MonstersInc.png",

I guess maybe someone has MonstersInc.png and merseyrail.jpg (the filename of the merseyrail logo on the 508 farewell page) right next to each other in a folder and didn't notice

or it's a fun joke, who knows!

Any confirmation of which 507 unit(s) are stabled at West Kirby in siding no. 1 please?
There was an ECS move earlier this evening (assuming it was a 507 move given the number of them at Birkenhead North depot currently).

O18 and 023 visible at top of roads in North depot with unis behind them. 001 on wall siding at New Brighton and what ever the unit is at West Kirby.

Thanks for the info. I saw a picture of 507003 stabled at West Kirby this afternoon. I believe 007 is behind 018 and 029 behind 023 in the shed at North depot.

507001 will be operating services on Southport line on November 1st to mark the 46th anniversary of the 507's entering public service, with the 507 farewell trip on the Northern lines on Sunday 3rd .

507001 has been vandalised again because Merseyrail haven't learn their lesson from leaving trains sat at New Brighton. Unreal

Yes New Brighton seems to attract this sort of behaviour - seen plenty of 507's and later 777's getting vandalised there. You'd think they'd secure the place a bit better overnight!

It's quite a significant attack too having seen it this afternoon, covering one side of carriage 64405. The people who do this are as idiotic as it gets, but that was a truly gormless decision to stable 001 at New Brighton again knowing the risk.

If they jet wash it quickly then it should come off quite easily. I recall a 158 getting painted overnight at Machynlleth. It washed off no problem.

Because Merseyrail's operations don't revolve around 1 unit that is surplus to requirements. Southport is out of action too remember. I'm sure the fact that its 001 really isn't high on Merseyrail's priority list when it comes to day to day operations. It will wash off.

No one's suggesting it's high on the priority list, but they'll have to pay to remove graffiti now completely unnecessarily. Silly.
