What’s the work like?

Its varied compared to New Cross Gate, coz you'll sign both 378 & 710s, sign the core route of NLL but also Gospel Oak - Barking branch. Not to mention the amount of disruption we get. It can also seem intense as its all Metro work with short turnarounds, a lot of stop start, restrictive aspects etc. Jobs are between 6 and 9 hrs mainly around 8, max 4hrs in the chair, 1hr end to end on the core, so max 2 rounders but mainly do 1- 1½. It's a 34hr week, main links have 10 day long weekends but there is a 7 day link, AM & PM link and no nights as have a dedicated night link.

4.15am earliest sign on, latest book off I believe 1.30.

Am/PM links advertised once there’s a vacancy, but goes based on seniority so I’d say no chance within 5 years minimum. But never know, miracles could happen.

No. LUL is a completely different infrastructure with completely different training regimes, rules etc.

You won’t sign the Watford-Euston DC at willesden. There’s a dedicated link for it, similar to AM, PM and Night links it’s very popular and once there’s it vacancy it gets advertised and goes based on seniority.

If you do a lateral transfer to Euston or Watford depots then you will sign it, but the lateral list is long for both, 5-6 years minimum.

Yes there is no waiting list for New cross as the work is much more intense. Trainees have to wait 1 year before being able to put their name down for a lateral transfer, not sure if that will also apply to Qualified drivers also. But regardless once you are able to you will basically get a move straight away once a vacancy arises. Chingford maybe about 1-2 years wait.

Very easy! There's no waiting list for NXG and vice versa for Willesden, but you may need to do a year productive before you can transfer. Good thing is we now have 2 laterals moves!

Extra route to sign, better work as the Watford/Euston DC is less intense compared to the NLL, shorter job also usually etc etc

It pretty much is the only route you sign as you'll mainly do DC and NLL. You'll lose GOBs & C-Sidings as you're likely to fall out of competence or drivers just remove from card. We RARELY see a Watford driver and when we do they aint happy to be there
